What a beautiful tribute. Your mom seemed like such a dynamic person.

Chris, I am so sorry to hear about your mother - she seemed like an amazing woman. You have paid a wonderful tribute to her; and I sure she was completely proud of the son she raised. I hope you are doing okay; please don't ever hesitate to get in touch.
Take care and my I'll keep you in my thoughts.

CHRIS!
Well I had no idea all this was happening but thank you for sharing your mother with us like this. For some reason, it feels very important to me that I get to know and experience the family and friends of those here I love the most. When I have visited, I make it a point to try and include them when possible. That Prince whirlwind weekend wouldn't have exactly been the best scene for a family gathering as we were walking wrecks But we've talked about our upbringings before and I really came away then, and I come away now, with a real sense of where you come from and a feeling of being connected to that and while I will not get to meet your mom, in some ways I feel like I already have. I am very happy that you can remember her in such a great way. I hope you can find some sense of peace in the fact she isn't suffering anymore. I'm very happy that you had those angels, and yes I agreee they are absolute real angels, with you so you didn't have to experience this alone. Just think, your mom probably has the rockenest Zappa experience right now You know whereever she is, she now has access to the universal information highway. She's probably readin his mind as we speak I love you baby and If you wanna talk, you know I'm here [Edited 9/19/07 12:01pm] 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

God, I love that thought. Why not? I have to admit, there have been a few times today that I've thought to myself that if there is an afterworld, poor Frank Zappa...he either has the best lady drummer in his band now, or else he has the craziest groupie stalker angel on his hands as we speak. Or both.

Wow, I'm very sorry.
She was so young, but it sounded like she lived her life right up until the end. And it sounds like you were very close, so while I grieve for you both, I am happy for the good times you had. My Legacy

Anx,
While we haven't met, our mother's had a ton in common including the same taste in music. The main thing they shared was creating awesome human beings in us. I lost my mom around Thanksgiving last year and while I'll never "get over it", I miss her every time my life goes through a change and I can't tell her about it. Keep your mom's memory alive by continuing to be the awesome person you are because she made you that way. My heart goes out to you for your loss.

I'm used to hearing new music or watching a good movie and thinking "I'm gonna have to tell mom about this", and I can't do that anymore. Thank you for your kind words - it helps knowing that we were lucky enough to have the cool moms we did.

Sorry to hear this.
I was hoping to meet her one day and have a few deep discussions about Hendrix, Zappa and other 60s musical phenoms. Well, we'll just have to meet them all on the "next one". tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Ahh Chris.
What an insane couple years it's been, huh? I remember when you first started telling me about the emergencies that kept popping up with your mom. Just when it seemed things couldn't get any scarier, they always did. For me, one of the saddest parts about this is that we lost her when she was seemingly so much better in recent months. I guess there's some relief in knowing that the suffering part of her journey is through and the both of you can finally have some peace about this. Just know what a fabulous son you were to her. You've really done her proud. The service was beautiful and the way you handled yourself and her care in the midst of such monumental changes in your own life is truly remarkable. Thank you for the chance to meet her. I know she wasn't in the greatest shape at the time, but she was so cute and funny and kind. I'm glad I got to experience her on a good day. And thanks for the invitation to her memorial. I'm so happy we could all be there for you. The photo album was gorgeous and your mix disc got to us all. It was so nice to see you laugh and be silly with us Saturday night too. That was as important for me as the service itself. You have a legion of people who love and support you and it's wonderful that you could feel a bit of that. Good work kitty and much love to you and your mom.
