YOUR VERY FIRST RECOLLECTION

I want you to dig deep down in your memory. Go as far as you possibly can.
What do you see. What is the first thing you remember from your childhood?

MINE:
I'm lying in bed.
I see a white pillow.
On the pillow there is a wet violet dummy.
I reach for it but it's too far. I'm sad.
I look into the window.
It's dark.

The end.
I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

The earliest event I can actually date is Elvis dying. I was quite a good reader even at five years old and I used to read the whole newspaper.

Earlier than that, I painted a blue star on my forehead at kindergarten and climbed to the top of a climbing frame screaming at the other kids to leave me alone.

My first memory is from when I was two. My sister was just born and my father, my maternal grandmother, my older sister and I went to go see her and my mother in the hospital. I remember my parents talking about me 'cause my dad had to take care of my sister and I while my mother was in the hospital and he couldn't handle it. I was a bad kid lol

i don't remember it at all, but apparently when i first saw my sister at the hospital she had a band-aid on her which scared me ('cause i associated them with getting my blood drawn, apparently) and i started screaming that they had to take her back because i didn't want her. falloff

One of my strongest early recollections was kissing a girl in the tall grass on a field on a sunny day. I think I was around 4.

I remember a fight between my mother and father. I was younger than 4 because my dad left us right after I turned 4 and he had to be living with us when this happened. I remember hearing yelling and screaming. I got out of bed and walked into our hallway. I saw my dad slap my mother hard across the face, hard enough to knock her glasses off her face and into the bathtub. I started screaming and crying telling my dad not to hit my mother. He just turned and looked at me with rage and shut the bathroom door. When he shut the door, my fingers were in the door jamb and he shut the door on my small fingers. I screamed bloody murder in pain. My dad threw open the door and I remember seeing that they both had a look of concern on their faces. I said to my dad "why did you shut the door on my fingers". He said "Your mother did it". I said "No she didn't. You did. I saw you", and with that he just shut the door and continued to beat her. That is my first memory in life....

Because adding a new member to the family was a big change. I went from being the youngest to being the middle child and I was excited to have a baby around shrug biggrin

no no no! You must always listen to your grandma! I learned this one the hard way.

I stayed at my grandma's once and she told me not to run around the table or else I'm gonna get hurt.

Three seconds later I hit the ground and soon enough a huge bump appears on my forehead.

My grandma jumps off her chair and exclaims rather angrily "See, I told you!"
and she run off to kitchen to bring something cool to lay on my forehead.

Unfortunately the only thing available was a huge kitchen knife, which she took in her right hand and started approaching me.

You must know that I wasn't very experienced with bumps at that age, but I sure knew how knifes worked!!! As soon as I saw that shining blade, I started screaming my guts out, begging my grandma not to cut the bump off...lol lol

I remember craning my neck to see out of the car window as we drove into the town where we were going to move, I remember only seeing the clock tower as we came down the hill

I could have been 2 and a half at most.
