 No need to "claim" one is a photographer to take pictures here. Phenomenal beauty here.  You are fortunate to experience it Steadwood. Thank you, thank you... for sharing. 
Is there any litter or trash there, it looks so clean. I dream of a place where people care about their community and have respect for their surroundings.

...Words and pictures can not truly capture the real beauty and atmosphere of this island... ...It's beauty is born from a violent past... the evidence of which is all around. This little poem I found sort of captures it Out of the bowels of the thunder you came Shuddering with the irresolut clouds Stone of bitterness, tempered, arrogant Where hope is carved out of the deep secrets of your heart With fire, with lava, with smoke With words that illumine the infinite You brought Forth the voice of the day You felt the joy of creation You surged into the world, firstborn Born into the purple, risen majestic form of foam. I was asked to a wedding there... unfortunately I was hit with travellers tummy bug to put it politely and couldn't attend 
..but there is a reason for everything... somewhere? ...to visit this place is like walking into a dream of times past. ...There is no litter... the natural beauty of the place along with the pride, as you quite rightly say, of the locals make it a natural crime to litter... this is even more amazing with the amount of people jostling through the very narrow busy streets. ...Even the animals don't rush life here
...Unfortunately I am home now..I could quite easily spend my eternity there... ...But I'd never be a taxi driver there ... they are crazy

Dearest Steadwood,
Truly thank you for sharing. While time and certain places can be senseless, mad and vulgar (which I have no interests for), it is true that your efforts and generous gifts in presenting your photos, are not. 
I think I love you most for that and have loved you for exactly that for years now. You never fail my eyes  . Never. Time and time again, you aid in awing me, especially here on the org. ~Smile.
