R.I.P. Aldi computer monitor

It died, finally. I had been expecting it's demise all week. It lived to a ripe old age of 2 years, one year past it's warranty.

we had many good times together, but now, finally, it is time to get another flatscreen.

2 years? That is an outrage. Things should last longer that that.

It would want you to move on with your life, and to find happiness with another flatscreen.

the Aldi monitor is the one on the right biggrin it was a huge CRT one, but the one I am looking at to type is an apple flatscreen.

The Aldi one came back to life just now! I think it dies when it's been on for a long time hmmm

My second computer is still using the same 15" CRT I bought back in '99.

As much as I would looooove a flat screen, I keep hearing they don't last as long at CRT monitors sad

My sony monitor is still going - I bought it in 97. I will in fact be putting that one here and giving the aldi one to the kids since they only use it one hour each day, and maybe it can cope with that shrug

my puter "died" 5 weeks out of warranty- AND it was repairerd twice during the warranty period disbelief
they wouldnt repair it out of warranty unless i paid 4 it disbelief

consumer affairs said i only had a case if i could prove that the fault related 2 a previous fault.

turned out that one of the previous problems (stuck cpu fan) fried it omfg

but as it took me over 2 months 2 save the $ 2 have it rebuilt- i couldnt b bothered ( a friend fixed it 4 me- and told me it was the cpu fan mad )

just after i'd discovered the org as well sigh- thank god it didnt happen later- i would have had 2 sue for emotional damage wink
