fall...

It seems to be sucking the energy out of me. lol

When I left for Toronto it was still summer here, it was still summer in Toronto, but now that I'm home it's definitely fall. It was only 39 degrees out when I left for work this morning. Brr!!!

I got home from work and have curled up with a book and a blanket even though I should be cleaning out my storage space and preparing for my move.

But I'm still optimistic. I enjoy sweater weather and I'm looking forward to the leaves changing. I normally adore fall. Just not today.

What do you love about fall?

It's 66 degrees out now. Normally, that's quite nice but I'm feeling all chilly. I may make some hot cocoa.

If we get a Fall, I don't notice it much. smile Even through December, it can still be too hot for my taste. It doesn't get really cold until early in the year, and even then, it's nothing compared to what you guys get. pout

We had such a dry summer, I wonder how it's gonna affect the foliage this year... It's a really wet summer that gives the most brilliant fall colors, isn't it?

Next week we'll get back up in the low 70s! woot!

That's my favorite fall weather. Warm and sunny during the day, cool and crisp at night. It makes me want to carve pumpkins and drink apple cider. mushy

Apparently you missed my thread on that last year. redface

And yes, once you get below freezing for several days in a row you can't wash your car. Well, they'll let you, but you shouldn't unless you're rich and have a heated garage.

What exactly IS "stank ass"? Is it as simple as it sounds, or much more complex?

I'd like to know where a person can live where the temperature dodges the Phoenix/Fargo bullshit. Seriously. Tell me where to go.

I like the heartwarming childhood memories that this season always seems to spark in my head.
F´rinstance,
there was this one time,
when my dad was raking up all the leaves into a huge pile in the backyard
& I, who was about seven or eight years old at the time, was watching & waiting from around the corner of the side of the house.
Then, just when the moment was right,
I came running out, ran at full speed, then jumped as high as I could & landed right smack dab into the massive pile, bursting with childlike glee.
My father then moved in, grabbed me from beneath the arms,
swung me around in the air,
frantically brushed the flames & ash offa me & yelled, "Holy fuck, Illustrator!! What the hell´s the matter with you!?!?!"

Yes, it's quite the luxery, so I'm told. I've never had one. My parents had a large garage but there was no heat in it. It's still warmer than leaving your car out in the elements, though.

But we're not talking winter here people. This is the autumn thread.

Ocean, people up there die if they don't run from their car to their office buildings fast enough.

ok, the next time you're at an invasion and stax is there, tell him not to shower for a week, and then have him run around the block wearing shorts made of a blend of lycra and spandex.

You won't even need to have your face in the general area to smell it.

Folks up north don't shower but every 7 or 8 days cause it's too cold to do it. They get serious stank ass!

I love the smell of fall. There's something about the change of seasons that I find comfort in. The smell of Spring and the "spring fever" with the general excitement in the air that winter is over.

Fall is apple orchards, cider, walks in the woods of changing colors, scaring little kids for haloween and it seems to end with the big Thanksgiving meal...
