I love schnitzel very much. I prefer it with mashed potatoes, but couldn't find a picture of that combination.

This is also a favorite of mine -

But Viennese schnitzel is not chicken but veal or pork, if it's chicken, it's just a Schnitzel, but not a vienneses one biggrin . I know as I am from Vienna biggrin .

If you ever come to Vienna you'll find out that it probably is the most popular food we have here and you can eat it with either potato salad or french fries lol .

Ottensen

It changes everyday.

A few months ago I was going through a hardcore Spanish/Andalusian phase. This month it looks like I'm jocking dishes from Singapore and Thailand rolleyes.
At the moment, every 5 minutes I'm in the mood to make curry laksa noodles, or I skip on over to the fridge to make my tried & true Thai favorite beef nam tok drooling...

It's kinda neat, all this food fact-finding...cause I looked at Ariel's pic, (and being here in Germany) thought "hey that's a wienerschnitzel!", but in Germany I'm only used to seeing the ones made of pork, so then I was mixed up because Jewish people typically don't eat pork (my grandpa taught me that), so I got all confused... but ya know what? I am SO going to try the chicken variation. The schnitzel here often is just a tad too fatty for me; it ends up being so heavy on my tummy I can hardly walk after dinner and you practically have to rolllll me across the floor to get me away from the table afterwards....schnitzel is still tasty though cool

I like cheese and onion pie - but it's strangely hard to find a picture online of one. I can find flans, quiches and tarts - but nothing resembling an actual pie with cheese inside.

What's that hun?

There are different kinds of plantains. There are yellow ones, which when fried, are sweet, and green ones, which are the ones that are used to make tostones. I can't really describe the flavor, but they are crunchy and delicious drool. They are commonly made in made in several Caribbean countries.

I've never had the green ones hmmm Just bought a few yellow ones the other day, gonna try to make plaintains w/ black beans & sour cream drool There's a restaurant I go to often, I'm trying to make it taste like theirs lol
