Victoria Secret.

For the cute Jogging Pants.

Cause I'm fat.
I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies
Whats it all worth only the heart can measure
It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

I like shops that sell 2nd hand items - clothes, music, books, general bric-a-brac as they are usually a lot more interesting.

Im also keen on book shops particularly if they have a cafeteria. Im very pleased that Waterstones in Sheffield now has one.

As a child I used to like sport shops as I was fascinated by football/soccer shirts.

TJ Max....designer stuff at a discount. I've found turkish and Egyptian cotton bath towels, Ralph Lauren bedsheets, DKNY home things, handknotted middle eastern rugs. The food section has fancy hot pepper sauces, coffees, real maple syrup for pancakes, etc. It's always a good place for discounted athletic socks for the kids.

That's Vivienne Westwood's and Malcolm Mc.Laren's 'Sex' shop, isn't it (as opposed to a sex shop)? hmmm

It's no fun now you can't smoke any place. There used to be a store in Bolton called Whiteheads and there was a restaurant on it's top floor which smelled of Chanel perfume, vegetable soup, strong coffee and ciggy smoke. Imagine Grace Bros. department store in 'Are You Being Served' and that's what it was like - stuck in an early 1970s timewarp.

Anyway, they sold alcohol as well as food & beverages and it was a great place to take your bags mid-shopping and just read your paper, whilst surrounded by an army of tipsy blue-rinsed ladies whom lunched. I think it shut-up shop about six years ago. I miss it.

My favourite store is X-Records in Bolton. Here's a pic of its grungey basement floor:

The bootlegs are usually under the counter if you ask politely. shhh
