Are You Lactose Intolerant?

Does your stomach bother you after you drink milk or eat other dairy products? I have come to the conclusion that I probably am, because the last few times I've had milk to drink, my stomach cramps up and I wind up with diarrhea. ill It happened again tonight a few hours after I had a glass of milk with my evening meal. I really would like to drink milk because it's good for me and all that. But I have determined that the after effects of drinking it is just not worth it.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I am sooo not lactose intolerant! woot!

I'm lucky. I understand that a significant percentage of black people cannot process milk sugars -- many in my own family cannot -- but I can do milk. And I LUUUV it! drool

Anxiety

i like milk and i don't think it makes me ill at all, but i am trying to cut down on it. i have soy milk for when i want cereal or when i want a glass of milk, but i still don't trust soy milk for recipes so i try to keep the real stuff around. plus, soy creamers suck. gimme half and half.

I'm lactose intolerant but only when it comes to milk and ice cream. Cheese and most other dairy products don't bother, just the liquid forms, I guess. I used to not be LI until about 17 or so year ago when I would eat a bowl of cereal and it felt like everything I've ever eaten would come out in the next hour or so.

I didn't know that I had lost the enzyme to digest lactose but then I finally realized that that was in fact the case. I still drink milk and ice cream and deal with the consequences, I just take Lactaid which usually works, so you can try that.
