Well the phrase "everything the do sounds the same and always has" demonstrates that you have not listened to the back catalogue. Just sayin' rolleyes

I've listened to the radio/tv music channels over the years and TO ME it sounds the same. After that I have nothing to say but to read Spookyben's statement about agreeing to disagree on music taste.

Anthony is a huge part of their personality, but he's the only one not holding up his end, musically. His lyrics are horrible, like he thinks as long as it rhymes, it's okay. And his singing has seemingly not improved since 1988.

I haven't heard John F's solo stuff, but based on the bg vox it sounds like he'd be a better singer. Maybe not a better frontman, though. I have to give Anthony that much credit. He's got great energy.

yeah, at one point I'd say they were without any real weaknesses. But lately, I feel Anthony didn't make the transition to melodic pop as well as the rest of the band. And I'm one of the few who doesn't mind that transition. But his singing on Taste The Pain & Knock Me Down were fine. Zephyr is not so tasty.

It's a tough call, though because Anthony may be writing nice melodies, but he's not singing them well.

On the whole I still like their stuff. The albums get a little long, though.

I completely agree. Anthony is not as interesting as he was once. I think the whole sex symbol thing has gone to his head. I do believe that John is a great guitarist though and Flea could teach many people how to thump that bass.

Even though he's not dead,
I hope that Flea is resting peacefully, somewhere.

I like that one remake that they did of that one Stevie Wonder song.

Stevie's not dead, is he?
