Teen Charged With Raping, Killing Sister in Spotsylvania By Theresa Vargas Washington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, September 5, 2007; Page B01 Beyond the broken windows of their Spotsylvania County home, in a back bedroom, a 16-year-old boy used a sledgehammer to kill his older sister and seriously injure a 2-year-old relative, authorities said yesterday. The teenager told authorities that he struck his 22-year-old sister, Betsy Mary Smith, on the head with the sledgehammer about 1 a.m. Monday before raping her. He also stabbed her with a kitchen knife. Sheriff's deputies found cuts on her face and wounds on her hands, indicating that she had tried to defend herself. When the 2-year-old started crying, the 16-year-old then struck the child on the head with the sledgehammer, Spotsylvania Sheriff Howard D. Smith said yesterday. A 1-year-old in the room at the time was not injured, and both weapons were recovered at the house, Smith said. Sheriff's deputies were called to the home on Brock Road after the toddler was taken to a hospital for a fractured nose and skull. They found the back room padlocked, Smith said. Betsy Smith always locked her bedroom door when she left the house, and so, her father said, he thought she had gone out when detectives arrived at the house about 8 p.m. When he broke the lock for them, he saw his daughter lying dead. Sounds like something Rob Zombie would make a movie about. 
That poor 1 yearold who saw it all.... I'm assuming that the 2 year old will have tramatic brain injury and will not know of this....but that 1 year old will recall it.  In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

Well.....minus the rape.....it's Halloween That poor 1year old who saw it all.... I'm assuming that the 2 year old will have tramatic brain injury and will not know of this....but that 1 year old will recall it. I probably wouldn't remember something like that at that age. I can't even remember anything from the age of 1 now.
