What do you do after work? I work Mon-Fri 8:30 am- 5:00 pm
Most times I clock out around 5:15 pm If I don't get a ride or catch a shuttle I have to walk out to my car which takes about 15-20 min. Then I have a commute that is almost an hour long. When I get home, most nights dinner isn't started so I do that. After that, I'm a bit brain dead. I end up just watching tv, talking to my kids and picking up. Around 9pm I realize I didn't even go outside except for the walk from and to my car at work. How does your time go after work? I'm firmly planted in denial

I start my Mon-Fri day job @ 7 AM and get off around 4 or 5 PM. These days, my classes are on Friday nights and all day Saturday. My Mon-Thu night job starts anywhere from 5 PM to 6 PM (I usually drive from the first job to the next) and it gets out at various times, depending on how late I can handle it. Sundays, I work the night job about 50% of the time. It will change next month, as I'll be doing a volunteer counseling gig instead of the night job, and will hopefully be helping build a local Buddhist temple by the beach, also a non-paid job. Not sure when they'll need me, though. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

Braindead - I know what you mean. Work can be quite exhausting! I work as a flight attendant and after working for about 10 hours starting at 5am I can barely take my dog out for a walk then I usually eat something or watch tv and fall asleep on the couch. Life can be quite boring. 18 August 2007, O2 Arena, London

I'm so tired of being bored. What's the worst is that it's said if you're bored, you're a boring person and I think that just might be true! I'm firmly planted in denial

Ex-Moderator | I go through phases.
I have about a 40 minute commute home, though today was much, much longer cause I had to drop my car off at the shop for work to be done and take the bus from there. I always check into the org after I walk in the door. Then, I try to go walk around Lake Calhoun. I've been slacking of late, but that's cause we had a few weeks of raining every day. Now I'm out of habit. BUT I want to get back to the gym after work and if I can get in at least 3-4 days a week, I will be very impressed with myself. I usually talk to 2 different friends every night on the phone for 10-60 minutes, depending on how much there is to say. And then it's dinner and house chores and org and maybe a dvd or reading. I'm also trying to get back into being more social than I have been. I've been out to dinner with friends 2 nights this week and 1 night last week. I read something every night before sleep. I can't sleep without it. I must always have a book. If I don't have a new one, I re-read an old favorite. |

I also like the part of talking to 2 friends every night. Sometimes I don't even pick up the phone when it's ringing. But I do send quite a lot of text messages on my phone every day, but that is also quite annoying as it is not very personal. 18 August 2007, O2 Arena, London

I change as soon as I get home and workout for an hour, stretch, jump in the shower and lay out what I’m going to wear the next day. Once that’s all done I chill, I always bring work home so I'll do that while watching TV and if I'm in the mood to talk I may answer my phone.

You lay out your clothes for the next day? AWW that's so organised! Don't ask me how many times I ironed my clothes at 2am in the morning before I went to work! But also I wear a uniform so I don't have to think about what to wear as it's the same every day. 18 August 2007, O2 Arena, London

I work in the Empire State Bldg - quitting time is 5pm, but leave between 5:15 & 5:30. Then I walk to my gym on Madison & 36th for a two & 1/2 hour workout. After that I take the No.6 subway to Parkchester(Bronx). Then I have to wait for the bus to finally get home, which is between 9:30-10pm.
