To be honest I never really bought into it, but recently some things have come up in my life that make me hope it's true (reincarnation).

Yes, or rather that there are parallel universes that exist simultaniously.
Time is very flexible so that is probably why deja vu happens..

One theory on deja vu is that before we are born we view our entire life as it's going to be lived. Deja vu occurs when we realize that we have already seen it before we are born.

I believe in reincarnation in a way. I think a lot of child prodigies have been reincarnated.

The next life is my last.

I believe in reincarnation, but not in the whole coming back as animals or animals - human. Deja vu I believe is a snap in time, dreams on the other hand I do believe can bring up your past lives along with fears like choking or drownding which could play a roll in finding out something that might have happened in a past life (such as being exacuted). If reincarnation exsists I think if we pay close attention to ourselves we can pick little things here and there that can explain who we were and what we were (as in a religious state) in past lives.

Why do you think the next life is your last?

Nope.... as time goes by I see where we will make of it as we will..... Its so much comforting to think we have more time but as I hit the next decades I see we have time to hit the mark... and or not... it is a choice.

My view....

Oh, I know some old souls that are much younger than me in this life. biggrin

I think that I missed doing some things I needed to do in this life so I'm trying to catch up and learn what I need to learn now before it's too late and I have to repeat this mess.

Do you think that we pick who we're going to be with in each life?

Nietzsche said time was circular, and espoused the idea of eternal recurrence - wherein everything has already happened for an eternity in the past, and will repeat exactly the same way again and again, over and over, for all eternity.

He said "This life as you now live it and have lived it, you will have to live once more and innumerable times more; and there will be nothing new in it, but every pain and every joy and every thought and sigh and everything immeasurably small or great in your life must return to you-all in the same succession and sequence-even this spider and this moonlight between the trees, and even this moment and I myself. The eternal hourglass of existence is turned over and over, and you with it, a grain of dust."

A flawed philosophy, but a disconcerting concept to consider. I surely don't want to go through this exact same life again, endlessly.

I could live with it... however, the greater question is ( for me) do you believe this and or expos it?

No, for many reasons, both spiritual and scientific, I don't believe in nor agree with Nietzsche's theory. I merely find his idea an interesting one to contemplate, albeit rather depressing and unsatisfying.

It's my personal belief that we each get one shot at this inexplicable state of existence called "being alive", and that we are given this experience as both a gift, and as a tool and opportunity for growth, to experience the unique joys and sorrows which can be felt only via the physical body and physical realm, and to learn certain lessons from the same.

When I was younger, I believed after death there is nothing else -- that poof! we merely extinguish completely, like a light going out. However, after being around awhile now and experiencing many things and learning many things and loving many people and going through terrible times as well as times of incredible happiness, I can no longer believe a life holds no purpose other than just to "be" for awhile on this planet, then become -- nothing. All those many memories I've accumulated, all the knowledge, all the emotion, all the love I've felt....no longer can I personally see the logic in that everything that I am and have ever felt can be destroyed in a millisecond, or that my mind and my essence could simply disappear as if it never was. I couldn't continue some days, were I to truly believe that being alive held no meaning or purpose beyond the physical and the present.

After leaving this earthly plane, I believe we move onto yet another phase and form of existence, though precisely what that might be I am neither enlightened nor arrogant enough to claim to know.

Of course, the above is only my personal beliefs on the issue, and consider them to be nothing else.
