I just saw an ad for a movie called "Wisegirls" starring Mariah Carey...

Why in the fucking world would ANYONE cast Mariah Carey in a movie again after the HORRIBLE travesty that was "Glitter?"

WHY???

They bumped their heads or... well, that's not nice. They bumped their heads.

I would rather stare at a wall for two hours...the sad thing is...it will probably make money.

I guess Mariah is into that humiliation stuff. Glitter didn't humiliate her enough so she's going for round 2.

I think they were really taken with the costumes and first amazing dance sequence. I know I was.

The LA Daily News reports that the Mariah Carey and Mira Sirvino starring 'Wisegirls' may be released straight to video by Lions Gate and skip a theatrical release. Carey had hoped to have the film released in theaters to prove to moviegoers that 'Glitter' was just a fluke and that she could have a future as an actress.

I think filming began on 'Wisegirls' before or during 'Glitter.' It may have been too late to back out.

Mariah is a great singer.An okay actress and Glitter
was not a bad movie or a soundtrack.I liked them.

I agree. I had heard that the movie has absolutely horrible and that she did a terrible job, but when I saw the movie on cable recently, I decided that it wasn't bad at all. It may not have been Academy Award worthy, but it was a decent movie. I think that the many reporters in the press who made negative remarks were heavily influenced by the powers that be at Sony (you know who I mean), and others who just damned it to hell were already angry with Mariah and her "new" image. The movie was decent and worthy of your viewing (I am not saying cancel plans to watch it either), but overall it was decent and her acting was OK. (Don't forget that immediately afterwards she had a mental breakdown, and possibly that was effecting her on the set as well...no excuses being made on my part) I just feel that when Mariah started dressing sexy and began associating with R and B singers, and especially rappers, that many people got angry with her and could no longer identify with her. She has the right to venture into other areas of music, other than pop, and associate with whom she wants. She is a beautiful woman, with an incredible voice and can make a horrible song sound good. Her R & B/ rap collaborations are off the chain... and you must be one who appreciates that form of artistry to even judge it (or to have a relavent judgement). I look forward to seeing her new movie... I wish her all the luck in the world!

I agree that her Glitter ain't all that but "Wise Girl" is mos def a different story. They are trying to up the poor girls career which is no career at the moment. That Glitter movie is a bust. I don't think she is acting material. She should just stay with her voice.

i caught glitter on cable i came in on the part she sits down at the piano and does stuff...and from there it was to hard to watch cause it kinda sucked lol
