Joining team Carrie on stress...

So, I get the kids off to there first day of school...

Awwwww... rolleyes yea team Muse. So anyway, I LOVE the beauty of my community but It also is a bedroom community filled with married families and no single community what so ever as well as is the burbs and isolated. ( Very healthy for small children 7 years ago. ) So next year my daughter will be in college in the OC. Yea team Muse rolleyes Right! So anyway, I will be moving to a city called Brea in 12 months from now. Both my businesses are there and really everything I do right down to my gym so it makes sense.

I have ( so I thought) 1 more year here which is bitter sweet. None the less, the shrew that I lease from sent me over the top today. I have been a perfect and spotless tenant that has done nothing but bring this place up and has been here for 7 years and never a day late with her $1900.00..... She has been horrid and difficult the entire time.

She cemented the entire joint in prior to my being here and the city has ordinances that prevent that... As well, who planted a palm tree that is meant for the wild and surpasses the houses by a few hundred feet with around 100 feet of dead Frans. The neighbors complain to me about these things and I empathise but little I can do. I have complained it is a fire hazard and very not acceptable but being the shrew she is she refuses to contend with it. So, finally.... someone turns her into the city and they not only come at her to correct the monster but also she is forced to dig out all concrete. ( She brought it on herself to the tune of well over 10,000) The only thing the city was satisfied with was the vegetation I have placed to bring some life to the joint. So this morning I water ( note the hose) pull a few weeds and head in for morning coffee.... I finish for work and go outside to see how it all looks after a good water..... that damn shrew had driven by and pulled out most the plants in the bed. Just fucking pulled them out and tossed them in my trash cans.... I call the leasing agent on the spot in a rage. They deny ANYONE has been out here as she has not authorized such a manuver. It is also illegal for her to step foot on the land without 24 hour notice.... ( I have a licence in the field and know my rights) So I say fine you are telling me I should call the police and make a report as this place has been VANDELIZED! I suggest she check with the shrew first and I give her 1 hour. She places several phone calls and calls me in a panic for time as she damn well knows the shrew went over their heads.

Bottom line, I give up.. clearly she feels I reported her. I am not damn dumb enough to light a fire under my own ass and what she has done was both uncalled for and illegal. Her next step will be to take it out on me and as this isn't a rent controlled area I am toast. The leasing agents have warned her she over stepped but she doesn't care...

Bottom line: Brea is a wonderful city in Orange County where I do all nature of things and my daughter will go to college in Fullerton anyway. However her Sr. year is at hand so she must complete here and little man will be quite shook to be uprooted at this time. This will also present all nature of troubles with the joint custody arrangements. I share even custody with their father. I also have a 2 story 4 bedroom home to contend with...

I do see where this is all going... I suspect this will all be healthy for me but I pray it is so also for my son....

sigh I just needed to vent.... I have spent the last 7 years doing what is best for the children and as they near grown I don't want to shake their worlds. I am very terrified..... ok thanks for listening...

You know what this is about... your good. smile nod

If the fight gets hectic enough, consider taking your story to your local investigative news team. TV crews always are looking for a good ol' David & Goliath story (you would be David, but you knew that already).

Of course, that might be a bit surreal for your kids. So, tuck it in the back of your mind for now.

In the meantime, hang in there. hug

The important thing is that you communicate with your children, and I know you do. I'm positive that they know how much you love them. They have so much support that I believe the transition will not be as difficult as you may think.

I'm not a parent so what I may be saying may mean nothing. I just think you're such a great mom!!

Yes, I prayed for a renewed hustle, in the months that preceded utter chaos last year. But, He's faithful to carry you through it. smile

Don't you HATE that feeling of not being completely in control, especially when it comes to your kids? disbelief confused...And the unfairness of it all would truly aggravate me to no end mad...She can come over and literally vandalize my stuff and I'm limited to what I can do in return because I care about my kids' emotional and educational well being?? mad

Personally, I'd be thiiiiis close to filing a police report anyway...lol...

Do you have a lease?...I would think that would help mitigate the issue of a rent increase, if so...Good luck no matter what you choose to do, though hug...and I've no doubt your kids will be fine as well, no matter what. rose

Precisely. The lease went month to month years ago... clever on their part.. As it were, she still can only raise it reasonably but the shrew lacks reason or good sense... so I will take it one day at a time but research my options too...

she can't pull that stuff and get away with it, it's against the law. take her to conciliation court.

then again, maybe you can use her transgressions as leverage against her in the future lease negotations

It's to your advantage that you know the laws. The problem is that you didn't see her do it. Change is good darlink! The kids are old enough so that it won't disrupt their lives too much. I've heard that Brea is a good place to be. shrug

Let me know when you have your own brokerage, and I'll come down and sell some of that OC real estate with ya! wink

Screw that shrew. Do not waste mental energy on her if you don't have to.
