WHAT A MAN!!! Picture this...it is 2.30am and I hear footsteps and crying. The bathroom door opens, more whimpering and I hear the bathroom waste bin open and close and more footsteps. I then wake up fully and realise that it is my daughter crying. I call for her and she comes in crying..."I've had an accident" and I realise that she has changed her pyjamas. I ask her if she has wet the bed and she says yes and is mortified that she has done so. My daughter is 4 years old.
My Husband then comes upstairs (he had fallen asleep on the sofa and I never wake him when he does that) and I tell him that she has had an accident and he goes into her bedroom and then shouts "Don't put her on the bed" (which I haven't done by the way). He comes in and says, "she's had more than an accident, she has pooed the bed" I lift her nightie up and there it is, all down her leg, up her back and she is shaking like a leaf. My husband then proceeds to run the bath, strip the bed, get my daughter ready for the bath, put my daughter in the bath, cleans the carpet whilst I put the duvet cover etc in the washing machine. After he has cleaned her up, he proceeds to wash the pyjamas, finds the knickers that she has put in the bin and scrubs them also. Disinfects the sink. He dries my daughter and gets her ready into some clean pyjamas and puts her in our bed and says that he will carry on sleeping downstairs. He got up at 6.30 this morning, put the washing out on the line, checked that we were all okay and then went to work. My husband is not henpecked in the slightest but is a plumber who works on first builds. I am so proud of my husband. I saw last night that he is also a wonderful father. he is a good man Sometimes you need incidents like these to realise how good of a man he is. "I may not agree with what you say but I'll fight for your right to say it"

my husband would also see an icident like this as something that just has to get done, without complaints. Many times I have not even woken up and he has changed wet kids and beds and I just get the machine going in the morning.

When I first got my children (who are adopted) my husband was the first one to change their nappies, clean up when they threw up, bath them and feed them. I just watched in awe of him. Sometimes I forget this and it is good to be reminded now and again. "I may not agree with what you say but I'll fight for your right to say it"

you know this reminds me of something, you know on funniest home videos when dads change their baby's nappy, they hold their nose, dry reach or silly things like that. My husband has a theory if the smell of a child's poo offends the father that much it might not be his child! which was his way of saying his kids stink and he doesn't care He got thrown in the deep end since when I had my first one I had a c-section and then was back in hospital with complications (which put me out of action for the first 6 weeks) and he singlehandedly ran the show.

Hmm...my ex-wife's farts really offended me, so he may be onto something lol ... I remember back when I was married, I used to be a manager of a Little Caesar's pizza place for awhile...one Sunday it was busier than usual, so me and the two employees who closed with me didn't get finished cleaning the place until around 1:30 am. Then, on top of that I had the monthly inventory to do, and had to do it by myself because we were so busy I couldn't start it during business hours like normal. By the time I got done it was 5:00 am and I had worked a 15 hour shift...and I was exhausted. When I got home my wife was still asleep, and I sat on the chair in our bedroom, taking off my shoes and smelling like dough lol...right as I'm taking off my shirt, she wakes up, rolls over...and says almost in her sleep, "I started my period and ran out of tampons." I just stood there for like 5 seconds...then started getting dressed again. I drove out to the store, grabbed her brand and size of tampons, and almost zombie-like paid for the suckers. When the cashier rang me up, she saw that the only thing I was buying was tampons, and saw that I was obviously wiped out...put 2 and 2 together, and said "You're a good man." I gave a smile and said nothing, and I guess she sensed that I wasn't really believing her, so she repeated it..."I'm serious...you're a good man." I smiled wider, and said thank you, and went on home. When I got home and crawled into bed, my wife sleepily said "Thanks, hun" and gave me a hug. Moral of this story? Make sure to tell your husband/bf that you think he's a good man if you really do...trust me, it will stay with him. The words of a cashier stayed with me all this time...hearing it from the women we love is priceless.

Oh my good grief, that actually bought tears to my eyes!
There is nothing worse than dealing with a situation like that and a stressful husband in a mood about it (like a lot of men react) He is an absolute gem! I hope your little one is ok too, I have a 4 year old and they take set backs like that hard. to you all!
