My fellow Prince.orgers, it is with a deep sense of pride in this bit o' Net created by Ben (big Ben, not Spooky) that I hereby announce that in the very near future, I shall announce my intention to make an Org-shattering announcement.

The likes of which promise to shake the Org to its very foundations. In the interim, I shall form an exploratory committee to study and weigh the viability of such an undertaking.

I'm off to a retreat being held at an undisclosed location for the next few days. It's nothing approaching a ranch in Texas or a compound in Massachusetts, but it will suffice for the time being.

Before I depart, however, I will address the few conspicuous comments that are natural when people are confronted with change.

1) One needn't own an actual soapbox on which to stand, in order to opine. We opine here daily, without such implements. So, one needn't practice 21st-century calligraphy in today's sense with the archaic implement known as a calligraphy pen. My abode has light-coloured carpet. My agility isn't what it used to be. You get the picture.

2) There will be room in the new Org for divas. So, RhondaB and Supa will have their own roles.

3) One shouldn't be distracted by the term "the new Org," or take it to mean that a coup or revolution will take place. Revolutions, in the traditional sense, are so passé. I don't envision anything to subvert the structure of the Org (Ben and our worthy moderators do outstanding jobs ). A revolutionary revolution, now that is quite a different concept altogether. I do not wish for anyone's ouster. Where would be the purpose or fun in that.

4) My exploratory committee is investigating the hiring of someone to go over the accurate, error-free translation of my concepts to the typewritten word. When you're focused on the big picture, as I will be in my compound momentarily, you cannot always be bothered with typos. I imagine Ben Franklin's quills graced many a manuscript that bore cross-outs and the like. Focus, people. Focus.

5) Well, I make my departure. Have a wonderful, productive holiday weekend. I hope to return in a few days with a clearer understanding of my announcement about my announcement.
