Its not really free, cos u still have 2 pay something and it comes out of your wages in National Insurance Contributions and theres no such thing as free dentistry as even with an NHS Dentist and Optician u still have 2 pay a certain percentage!!

The thing is PP4, the hospitals are crap, more cases of MRSA here than in any other country, paint peeling off walls, lack of proper cleaning chemicals due 2 government cutbacks(hence the MRSA), hospital closures and downsizing, communal wards instead of a private room for each patient, long waiting lists of 2 years or more for operations(unless its a life threatening emergency), cheapo sub-standard medication cos its 2 expensive for the government 2 provide the health service with the proper medication that actually works!! Then plus u always have health workers going on strike for better pay and better working conditions of which they never get cos of government cutbacks!!! lol lol lol lol

But, apart from all that, its fine living in the UK - NOT!!!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Well that'd be one way to describe it. ONE CRAZY WAY YOU FREAKING NUT.

England is nice.

Our healthcare is indeed free (although technically you pay for it through taxes), and, although it's not perfect, it does. We British are prone to complaining and massively exaggerating problems - we love a good moan.

I hate R&B, but it is MASSIVE here amongst chavs lol - I don't know whether that's a good thing or not for you, but just so you know: yes, R&B is popular. Rock has a way cooler scene though. cool

The main thing is most of England is really picturesque - villages that you won't see in any other country and lots and lots of green. lol

The only downer, and it's the reason I'm leaving England, is that it's so fucking expensive. Even with adjustments for inflation, your average Brit is 2% poorer anually than he was the preceding year - the costs of living are shooting up right now beyond control. I'm surprised the media aren't making a huge deal out of it. Gone are the days of a 50p cup of tea. 50p?! More like £3! That's $6!

Anyway, hope that helps. smile

Well, I wouldn't move to Spain with it's rampant bull-goring and goat-throwing, but I've had enough of England. I wouldn't mind living in Belgium.

don't you dare hmph! you can come over to buy cigarettes or be operated on (they actually do that, cuz hospitals in UK suck) but you'll be deported afterwards on my special request.

Won't you miss binge drinking and teen pregnancies ?

razz Good idea.

Seriously though, Belgium is a cool place to live. And this comes from some one who is very unchauvinistic (the only exception to that is when I'm making love to my Dutch boy).
