Well, I wouldn't move to Spain with it's rampant bull-goring and goat-throwing, but I've had enough of England. I wouldn't mind living in Belgium.

I found that attitude rampant when I was there.

It seems, though this is only spoken in hushed circles, that there is a great deal of resentment racially and nationally against the polish and Indian immigrants there. They've developed the same "This country is going to hell" attitude many US citizens feel towards Mexican immigrants here. But unlike America, they speak of actually just moving to another country lol.

It was wierd and shocking as I found England extremely charming otherwise. I get the sense, and I'm not joking, there's alot of gay and gay friendly men there. All you British men put off a little gay vibe, whether intentional or not--that's hot.

I must be strongly attracted to men that are charming and give off a little gay vibe...

I am ok with that biggrin

Much safer than here in the States.

Though I would love to live in London for a few years, I would never stay there permanently. Unlke yourself, I adore Florida. lol

hey I understand why ppl adore it here..just like anywhere really. We all have different likes and interests.
I moved to Florida(Florider...have to practice) from Maryland (small town in the country). I HATE the heat and every year I have wished to move..this has never felt like home to me.
So for me it is time to find home biggrin

It is just funny to hear some Americans perception of other countries...ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE...

lol

when I first got off the plane at the London HELLthrow airport, and went through immigration, I stood beside a ridiculously handsome young man who couldn't have been more than 16 or 18 years old.
He seemed to take quite a fancy to me and joke alot and talked with me while I was waiting on my never-to-appear luggage (thanks alot British Airways--you lost my luggage at EVERY stop rolleyes ). He was so cute, I just chuckled to myself at the accent, the trendy haircut, the pale, flawless skin.

It ended up being a common "Charming" aura that almost all the British males had. The women, were hit or miss, but but charming as well, though I thought the older women were moreso than the younger ones.

I love English mannerisms and the way the carry themselves overall.

It's nothing to do with immigrants - in fact, the country would grind to a halt if its immigrant workforce all went on strike tomorrow.

It's the cost of living more than anything else. If you're Kevin Spacey, Madonna or Gwyneth Paltrow, I'm sure it's an amazing place to live.

Secondary to that is a degree of lawlessness which I don't believe exists in any other Westernised country. I don't honestly believe that I've seen a policeman on foot patrol in over five years. Maybe longer.

I suppose it is very gay-friendly. It's odd that in the U.S. you have Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell whereas in the U.K. we have Graham Norton and Paul O'Grady. Ellen and Rosie are practically asexual compared to their male British counterparts. I can't imagine somebody like the uber-camp Paul O'Grady presenting a chat show at 05:00pm in the States.

If you want to understand British Culture, I think Doctor Who encapsulates it perfectly.
