Whats it like living in England?

i was watching Sicko and I see that they have FREE healthcare?

FREE????

Like I can go and get my teeth done and they wont charge me? Or I dont have to pay $59 just to get a splinter taken out of my foot (THANKS FOR COVERING MY $5 BLUE CROSS!! mad ) or I can get a simple walkin in for free? This is why I be scared to even go to the doctor.

Anyway....what's the music like there? How is R&B? Whats the scene? Is everything more peaceful there? Seriously thinking about making a trip out there one day.

I'm not English, but as an Australia who lived there for two amazing years, my two cents is that it's a FANTASTIC place to live... the health care is much the same as it here in Australia, so I can't really comment on that, but pretty much all aspects of living in England are fantastic...

just my view twocents

Hey you hug ...the weather was fine, imo. many complain about it I guess, but I found it absolutely fine. I'm not one for really warm climates, so take that into account I guess.

again, just my twocents

Hi hug

I was never bothered by the rain, but dull, overcast days got a little wearing. Of course, living in a warm climate now I love the weather in England when I'm back there. Makes a nice change. smile

I was told that it is dangerous and unsafe to live in England. My stepdad told me that today.
Is that true?

Obviously it is safer for me to live here in Florida in a rental area all alone than to live in England with a big strong man.

Nothing in this life is free. You are paying for it one way or another either through higher taxes or lower wages.

Its not really free, cos u still have 2 pay something and it comes out of your wages in National Insurance Contributions and theres no such thing as free dentistry as even with an NHS Dentist and Optician u still have 2 pay a certain percentage!!

The thing is PP4, the hospitals are crap, more cases of MRSA here than in any other country, paint peeling off walls, lack of proper cleaning chemicals due 2 government cutbacks(hence the MRSA), hospital closures and downsizing, communal wards instead of a private room for each patient, long waiting lists of 2 years or more for operations(unless its a life threatening emergency), cheapo sub-standard medication cos its 2 expensive for the government 2 provide the health service with the proper medication that actually works!! Then plus u always have health workers going on strike for better pay and better working conditions of which they never get cos of government cutbacks!!! lol lol lol lol

But, apart from all that, its fine living in the UK - NOT!!!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Well, I wouldn't move to Spain with it's rampant bull-goring and goat-throwing, but I've had enough of England. I wouldn't mind living in Belgium.

I found that attitude rampant when I was there.

It seems, though this is only spoken in hushed circles, that there is a great deal of resentment racially and nationally against the polish and Indian immigrants there. They've developed the same "This country is going to hell" attitude many US citizens feel towards Mexican immigrants here. But unlike America, they speak of actually just moving to another country lol.

It was wierd and shocking as I found England extremely charming otherwise. I get the sense, and I'm not joking, there's alot of gay and gay friendly men there. All you British men put off a little gay vibe, whether intentional or not--that's hot.

Much safer than here in the States.

Though I would love to live in London for a few years, I would never stay there permanently. Unlke yourself, I adore Florida. lol
