My Mother passed away 10 years ago, she also was in a lot of pain the last months of her life. I am glad she is no longer in pain, but I feel cheated for the years I have had to live without her, time does not take away your pain. But in time you will learn to accept, may god bless you and your family. | |

your words have been very kind and appreciated. it's strange, but i put on my "Parade" LP and somehow felt very comforted by it. and when sometimes it snows in april came on, i just kind of went numb. i have always gravitated to this song in times of sorrow, but it just really hit me hard today. it hasn't quite been 24 hours yet, but i'm already missing doing the things that i had to help her with in her last 3 months--getting her dressed for dialysis (and having her complain that her socks didn't match her shirt), soaking her dentures for her, making her a bowl of quick grits to take with her oj and meds..even having to wipe her up after she used her bedpan. i told her a few days ago that no son should have to see all their mom's "goodies"..we just kinda laughed about it. i know every day will get a little better, but honestly i feel like i'm walking across a desert right now, with no end in sight.
