It looks like the end of the world outside...

I am here in the SF Bay Area (East Bay to be specific) and it looks and feels like the end of the world outside.

It is hot, very humid for the Bay Area and there is a thick smoke cover from all the fires around (mostly from the 15,000-acre wildfire in the Plumas National Forest near Greenville, about 150 miles northeast of Sacramento) that makes everything have a redish-gold tint. It is actually cool...creepy, but cool.

The sunset last night and sunrise this morning was absolutely spectacular!

Don't forget the fire in San Jose! There were also two as of yesterday near me (northbay). The sky was orange last night (and this morning). I took a bunch of pictures on my phone.

My car was COVERED in ash this morning.
Oh shit, my hat done fell off

Wow... eek Gorgeous...unfortunately it's partially due to the fires...

Yes the Lick fire near San Jose. There are also several fires all around Norther California, but the news said most of the smoke we are having is from the Plumas fire because of the off-shore wind flow coming from that direction.

It's incredible to think the amount of ash we're getting is practically a state away. I'm 20 minutes off the coast!

It is really weird outside now with the redish-gold tint all over the place (only have my cell phone with a broken lens so I can't take any pictures right now).

I'm in Union City right now and will be in Hayward this afternoon for one of my Soccer teams practice....I am really going to take it easy on them today.

And it is amazing how far all that smoke is actually traveling.

Yes, OMG! It does look crazy outside. I just had lunch and it was weird. All the fires going on in my neck of the woods. Stevens Creek fire and the Morgan Hill fire are still going.

Great photographs. That second one especially looks otherworldly -- like the vista of another planet.

I am happy to report, for anyone who has been paying attention to my ramblings about the Zaca Lake Fire, over the hills of Santa Barbara. It is finally a done deal, it took 2 full months to contain! It burned over 200,000 acres, and it cost 118 million to fight.
