The 80's decade were famous for the cop and detective shows. From shows like Knight Rider to the A-Team to ChiPs to Jumpstret 21, they had it all.

the only ones i watched faithfully were 'cagney & lacey' and 'the outsiders', and i only watched that second one because i thought they were supposed to be prince and bowie lookalikes.

I don't remember much. The only 80's shows I remember liking were Night Court and Alf. Totally unrelated, yes. Except for Night Court--at least it was the judicial portion of the law system as opposed to a puppet alien. So, I suppose, this post is slightly relevant. Slightly.

Definitely - Magnum PI. I loved that show and I think I saw every episode.

oh, i watched moonlighting too...but that show shouldn't count as a cop/detective show because it was actually kinda quirky and clever as a comedic soap opera.
