The thread about dream cars has prompted me to ask...

What was your first car?

For me, it was a 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 convertible. I owned it from 1994 to 1997.






Positives:

* It was unique. Nobody else I knew had one.

* It was a lot of fun to drive.

* It was an Italian car, with a Pininfarina design.

Negatives

* It was an Italian car, which have a (well-deserved) reputation for being unreliable.

* I could get any part that I needed, but I usually had to order it from a catalog. Since Fiat pulled out of the U.S. market in the 1980s, I couldn't just visit a dealer's parts counter.

My first car was a 1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby Turbo. It was black and sweet as hell. The biach would take curves at 90 miles an hour if you did it right...the car was so damn aerodynamic

I got my first car on my 18th birthday me miss that car so much me had to get rid of it over the engine and other problems that would of cost me tons of money to fix

It was a red 1976 Oldsmobile Boat with a white top handed down from my grandmother. That car had major attitude.

An awful Metro, blew engine after one week:

1979 Dodge Omni...
kinda looked like that picture of the Metro.
Bought it for $300 from some residential painter,
came complete with paint fumes and all.
Sadly, i hit a HUGE pothole once, and damaged
the entire wheel support system.

1970 Plymouth Sports Satellite... for about three days until I ran a red light with my dad in the car and he took it away from me beacuse it was "special" - some sort of push car assembled thingy. Then I got a 1976 Cutlass Supreme. And then I got another cutlass, and another, and another. Cutlass' suck!


It looked pretty much like this, but a 1970, and it had two black strips down the thing. I loved that car!

'76 Chevy pickup. Got it used. Put another 200,000 miles on that sonofagun and still couldn't kill it!

My first car was a Cadi... She was the best when she actually worked

The first one I bought for myself was when I finished Highschool and it was a new Honda Passport.

A light blue 1986 Toyota Tercel...3 dr hatchback... ran her for over 250,000 miles... I even gave her a name... Suzie, LOL!!!

My first car was a 1977 Ford Granada. I was only 16 and had to pay for the car and insurance myself so I couldn't afford much (The car was like $600 but for some reason liability insurance was over $100 a month) but I liked it.

1972 Green Datsun 1200.A complete piece of shit that lasted two weeks.

1979 Chevy Monza in baby crap brown, interior smelled like an armpit and the headliner flapped in the breeze.
