after a brief relapse, I have resumed my effort to quit smoking....I'm down to one cig every 3 or 4 days...woot! I've gone as long as a week or so between puffs....but sometimes the stress buildup needs a drag or two....

It amazes me how deep the addiction goes....I never realized how much I smoked until I quit....and almost every hour or so, I was looking for a cig....shocked me how unconscious the habit is.... eek

good luck with yours! highfive hug

Smoking.

I was smoking on weekends because I knew I wasn't going to not smoke at Reading lol - however, since Reading I'm trying not to at all now. 5th day, had a craving this morning but I fight them by drinking coffee and never carrying the money for fags. lol

I'm trying to quit sugar. And bad women.

That sounds like a bit of cut dialogue from "Bad Santa," but it's the truth.

Im not quitting anything for better or for worse. Not having vices is for folks who go to bed at 8pm, eat vegetables and have sex in the missionary position.

I didn't have a cig since yesterday evening. The doctor told me she would help me to quit, but it wasn't the moment to. I think that if I smoke now I will never be able to stop, on another hand it would be easier to be helped, just like she said.

I succeeded to stop alcohol and other things, cigarette is something I really want to stop (because I choose life), but if I can be helped and suffer less, why not. I have another appointement next week.

definitely! every little bit helps, and I think you've done the important part, you want to give up. So many people think they ought to but that isn't a strong enough reason.

Good Luck biggrin

i just gave up my job of 7 years in assurance with steady good salary
and secure job position.

i don't know i like the work but it's not what i wanted to do for the
rest of my life. so i finally decided to take the risk and give it up
for becoming a male nurse

woot!

checked everything out, made calls. went to the employment agency and
the nursing homes and secured myself a work/college position with the
added bonus of a guarenteed job at the end of it

:smug:

i have to take a nosedive of 500 euro's a month in my paycheck and go
back to studying but what the heck, i'm finally gonna do what i've
wanted to do forever now and i don't regret it.

i start next monday dancing jig
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Anxiety

i'm in the midst of some of the most monumental changes of my life this week, so i guess my answer would be yes, i'm quitting just about everything and starting a bunch of things too.

for starters, my last day of work is today. i was at this job for 4 years. i start a new job tuesday in a new city, in a new state, living in a new house with a new living arragement i haven't encountered in ages.

so yeah, i might give up smoking, but not just yet. lol
