I hate those enormous encased toilet rolls they have in public washrooms sometimes. They're so big and heavy that when you pull the end, the little piece you're holding gets torn off right away. And then again. And again. I don't like to wipe my butt with confetti.

And speaking of annoying little everyday things, I hate north american door knobs, especially when they're on washroom doors. You have to wrap your whole hand around those round MFers to open the door and who knows how much old pee you might be touching when you do that. At least with the European ones you can open them with an elbow if they look suspicious.

if the holder is across from your positioning then directionality should always be over. a two handed reach and tear is comfortable and the next square end will be visible and accessible on the top of the roll.
