I'm skipping the laxative part my dear!

Hmm...tell you what, dahlink...I'll start this lemonade diet cleanser doohickey on Friday, and by Tuesday when you start I'll have been on it for 4 days...so I can either cheer you on or tell you "HELL, no!" lol lol

Seriously, though, I've been wanting to do a fast for several months now, but just haven't for various reasons...maybe this is a sign that I should finally get on it. nod

So you're gonna try it??!!! I can't until after the holiday, I have too many parties to go to! lol After that I"ll need some detoxing wink

Just be careful Carrie, listen to your body and stop if it starts screaming...detoxing is good but this seems a little extreme to me.

I totally will. If I start feeling woozy or like I'm gonna die I'll stop. I've been talking to some professors at work and they say that it only takes 2 days 3 tops to detoxify. I just feel like I need it.

Good luck! Did you find the right maple syrup? I'm hoping I can get it at whole foods.

I have gained 7lbs of bloat this week! AHHH!! I cannot wait to do this!

The idea of toxin cleansing could be a bit of an urban myth, kind of like leeching if you were sick back in the day, or putting the candles on the back thing...

I think that all the ingredients you listed do have benefits as listed, but not if you are cutting out all the fiber, protein, carbs, clean water, and calories you need to keep your chemical processes and your evolved self cleaning body going.

I don't think that's much of an issue if you're only doing it for 5-10 days (10 days is probably the absolute maximum, tho...). And clean water isn't being cut out...actually you're encouraged to drink as much clean water as you want. The syrup has carbs (heh lol)...and if we can't go a week not eating protein without our systems shutting down then we're in worse shape than I thought lol smile...

well, I'm saying that toxic cleansing of the body is mostly a myth. I know for a fact that those popular colonics from a few years ago are bullshit as far as being cleansing. Ask any doctor.

I did the Master Cleanse last year and was successful in completing the 10 day fast. While it is challenging getting through the first 4 days,(getting used to the lemonade, overcoming hunger pains, etc.) once you make it past that hurdle the rest of the week is easy.

I enjoyed the benefits of weight loss and crazy amounts of energy and knowing that my body was being rid of toxins and impurities, but the weight comes back and eventually I went back to eating the same bad crap as before.

It's important to stick to the formula as directed otherwise you are pretty much wasting your time. The laxatives are necessary as they are intended to keep the elimination process moving while the lemonade is doing the work of detoxifying. The hard part for me was drinking the sea-salt concoction, but I did it.

The whole experience for me was the challenge of reaching the 10 day goal and I swear you will feel proud, feel better, and renewed inside and out . . . .Good Luck!!

Good luck. I don't know if I could do that. I used to hardly eat in high school and college because of wrestling, but now no way. I think I could do the coffee fast. Is there such a thing?

lol...I'm hanging in there, although the first two days were difficult...I kept wanting to eat, mostly out of boredom, though, I think. I never had any real hunger pangs, more like moods of "Wouldn't a good juicy cheeseburger taste great right now?" confused

And I actually like the "lemonade"...I make up a pitcher of the slop from ice cold, almost frozen purified water...then add in the right amount of lemon juice and syrup. A lot less bother than doing it glass by glass, and made it more likely for me to stick with it. I add the cayenne pepper to each individual glass, though lol...

sweet

i did this for 10 days in february..after the 1st 2 days of feeling a little hungry the remaining days are not that bad..you have tons of energy and no hunger (i did kinda miss chewing tho) and for me the best part was the will power thing...just the thought that i have control over what i put in mouth was just awesome to me..oh yeah and i lost 11 llbs in those 10 days!!

an important thing to remember is to wean yourself back onto regular foods..the book reccomends making a fresh veggie soup for after you finish-BUT only drink fresh squeezed OJ the first day off of the cleanse-then drinking only the broth from the soup the second day and then finally, on the 3rd day-eat the soup (your tummy has to get used to eating again)

good luck u two biggrin

Thats where I would mess up. I'd probably eat a whole roast beef and some tator tots.

I've never heard of the lemonade diet, but I heard of the master cleanser diet when I was in Massage school. I know someone who did the diet and lost a lot of weight quickly, but gained it all back and then some when he started to eat again.

Smooches;)
