WeightWatchers?

I'm so fucking sick of the way I look and I am gonna join next week.

I've never done anything like this before. Anyone have any experience with these guys? Good? Bad?

I wanna lose 40lbs by Jan.

sigh

I haven't, but my mom did it and she lost 50 pounds fairly quickly. I read through her book and it seriously is about portion control.

I swear you don't need to "join" unless you need to accountability.

I'd like to lose weight too. sigh

I haven't, but my mother has. She lost about 35 pounds last year while following the program. I kind of want to go through some of the the information pamphlets that she has. I need to lose about 20-25 pounds myself confused

Portion control has never been an issue with me but poor choices is a serious problem.

In fact, I often under eat but what I do it is very, very high in sugar and fat.

I am hoping that having to weigh in each week will keep me on track. I think it would be embarrassing to be taking this course or whatever, paying for it and then not actually practice it.

My mom lost 7 pounds in the first week. Are you able to exercise? I hate doing it, but I think once you hit your thirties you are in for a fight.

I am horrible at getting motivated but once I start I am fine and even enjoy it cuz of the high you get after you finish a hard workout. I've basically got a little gym set up here in my spare room so there is no excuse to not be able to work out.

I honestly have no idea why I can't get this weight problem under control. It makes me miserable. I know what I need to do to get rid of it, I am not a lazy person...and yet, I do nothing. sad

It is hard for you I'm sure. You're a single working mom. Shit. You have a lot on your plate. Beating yourself up about it isn't going to make it better. You can do it!! woot! (How did you like that cheese? lol) I under eat too. My mom was telling me that a big tenet of the WW thing is that you get the recommended calories.

I honestly know how you feel, 'cause motivation is always my problem...it just takes that first step, but the first step fuckin' seems impossible...
nod

but just the fact it's on your mind makes me think you're gonna do something about it...

I need to drop about 20...I'll try if you will..

Thanks. smile

I've gained and lost weight in the past - basically been up and down my whole life but like I said, this time I can't seem to get it under control.

My mom said she would join with me so I think having a partner will help. I didn't have anyone else to ask since all of my friends are skinny. mad

We don't like our big butts, flabby arms or whatever. It's hard being a woman in the society we live in. Guys will say that they like a girl to look healthy then the next thing you know they'll be drooling over some 100 pound Victoria's Secret Model. It kind of sucks.

Yeah, I know. Most people look at me and say, "You're so skinny." I tell them, "WTF? Get your eyes checked, damn." lol

But, I don't want to be unhealthy either. My dad had a triple bypass when he was 53 and so genetics aren't really on my side.

Health is a part of it for sure but if I am gonna be honest here....aesthetics is really what's most important to me (I know, I know...pathetic).

And don't get me wrong. I don't wanna be skinny (not that there is anything wrong with that lol ). I wanna be really fit but with curves, the curves I had at one time.
