I hate that I'm scared of thunder nowdays, before I used to love it..

It's because my dad finally told me the true story behind what happened to his brother and his parents.. It's a very dark story, and I'd rather no elaborate too much, but it started with my uncle being struck by lightning, and killed.. It was the only lightning reported that day in the whole area, where they were.. And he told me that he was kiled so fast, that the sandwich he was eating was still in his mouth, when he died.. cry

Ever since he told me these things (I knew he was killed by lightning and I even stumbled on the newspaper clippings they had about the accident, but never knew about the gruesome details or what happened after.. sad

) I've been dead-scared about thunder and lightning.. I get a shiver when I hear thunder roar, and jump when I see a flash of lightining.. sad

I hate being scared..

Are you afraid of something that's beyond your control, and wish you weren't afraid of? And if you've been scared of something in the past, how did you overcome it?

snakes ..i jump everytime i see them on tv or in a movie. i could tolerate them in anaconda cause i knew it was a fake one but when the real ones were shown i turned my head.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

seriously when i went 2 the bronx zoo once on a field trip, we walked 2 where they had reptiles and this tour park aid had a python around his neck i freaked out and went the other way.

this is how bad my phobia is...i had a supervisor who knew how i felt and was telling me about how her kids had a garden snake and wanted 2 bring it in 2 show me ..i told her ..i won't b here if they do..so she comes in with a jar with "holes" on the top and was bringing it closer 2 me ..i jumped over my desk 2 get away from her...she tossed the "snake" 2 me and it was a rubber snake ..i almost pissed in my pants
