We went to see the Dave Matthews Band and it was a shocker!

I expected them to be great live, the performance was very disappointing!

I think the fans were the worst part! Bland Bland Bland!

A friend an I won free tickets to go and see one of our Aussie musicians James Reyne, we also has passes to the b4 and after party. James was so bad we left halfway through and didnt even bother with the after party because if we had I would have flet compelled to tell him just how bad he sucked!! lol

lol

I can just picture the scene: the band backstage, all lapping up the applause and compliments, thinking they'd just honoured everyone with a triumphant show... everybody kissing their asses. You then come along and set them straight. falloff hug

i can't think of anyone in particular although i know there have been some where you think wow you suck live... but i am usually disappointed at a large concert venue by the fans. i'm all excited and want to stand up and dance and everyone around me just wants to sit bored

I saw Prince in Birmingham back in 97 or 98 and he was great as usual but the crowd was awful. It was like they did'nt know who the man was eek . people were like talking to each other and hanging out at concession stands and it was practically empty I don't think he has ever came there again. I'll stick to his Atlanta shows confused .

Probably .....Depeche Mode at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View California.

It was just crap because the accoustics there are...well....crap. So I'd say pretty much anyone I've seen theere was pretty bad.

Three deserve mentioning:

1. Madonna/Beastie Boys 1983 - Madonna was fine. The Beastie Boys sucked then and suck now. But we booed them off the stage. If you've ever wondered about the integrity of the average Houstonion, now you know we are top-shelf.

2. Allanis Morrissette 2006 - Most depressing chick EVER. Good gosh, every single song is about how either her mother or her boyfriend dicked her over. Sometimes, BOTH of them dick her over. I had to get seriously drunk just to bear it. She even made her opening act look like a grown up. Yes, I am talking about Jason Mraz.

3. Ted Nugent 2004 - Worst act of all time. Where do I begin? His blasphemy during the national anthem? His out-of-tune tepid solos? His macho posturing and expressed love of killing "bad" people? His outright obscenities (far, FAR worse than ANYTHING Prince has ever done) - performed in front of kids? His pure pussiness? All that and more. Ted Nugent is a piece of shit, plain and simple.

I'd have to say that Ween was also the worst band I ever saw. Good God who actually likes that band? lol They opened for The Flaming Lips and played for almost 2 hours. I wasn't high, maybe that was a mistake.

I went to see Badly Drawn Boy in Manchester when I was at university which wasn't great. He had been drinking heavily before the gig and when the crew were soundchecking he came onstage in a Bernie Clifton-esque ostrich suit and swigging a bottle of Jack Daniels.

During the performance he kept stopping mid-song and uttering rubbish. He then proceeded to have a right old go at the security about the fact that he wouldnt be able to complete his set due to the curfew being at 11pm.

Embarassingly for the finale he got his fiance up on stage who looked really embarrased to be up there to duet on 'Pissing In The Wind'.

All in all, not good.

Madonna/Beastie Boys 1983

I kinda wish I saw this show when it came to Seattle. I had several friends who did, and I remember hearing about the sheer sucking of the BBs.

For me:

Madonna - Who's that Girl: I didn't feel like I was at a music show, but maybe a Broadway Show. Plus, the Kingdome was not the most intimate venue.

David Bowie / NIN - Again, I think it had more to do with being in a stadium than anything else. That, and the Downward Spiral was pretty done by the time this tour came around. Most people left early without the patience to hear Bowie's hitless set from 70 yards away.

Depeche Mode - Music for the Masses: I truly believe everything except the "Thank YOOOOs" between songs was memorex.
"I got the devil in me, girl." - 'John the Baptist', Afghan Whigs
"Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself."
