I put in for white tail deer, wild turkey, javalina, and elk. Arizona has a lottery, and I don't always get drawn. Aerial surveys are done by Game and Fish to determine the population of animals and # of permits issued.
I shoot with a 30-06. I'm good within 300 yards, but past that, won't try. I use a range finder to obtain the distance.
I don't take a shot, unless I know I'm dead on.
I field dress, skin and pack out whatever I shoot.(I always have help)
Because of the draught and decreased # of tags available, I haven't had much luck the past 2 years....
I don't shoot anything I'm not going to eat.
