Frustrated....

tired of feeling like my emotions are being played on. I don't understand why these job agencies/companies call you and leave a message, saying they are interested in talking to you about a job opportunity, then when you call and leave them messages, they don't even have the courtesy to call you back. I just had a job agency call me and leave me a message on my cell phone recently, saying that she saw my resume on careerbuilder.com, she was impressed with my experience, and would I please call her when I get a chance. Well, I have called this broad like 3 times and left her messages, and I've yet to hear back from her. Why do people do this? Don't they know how frustrating it is for the person looking for a job to not even get a return phone call? Idiots!!!!! pissed pissed

Seriously: make sure you're signed with at least five agencies and call no less than one time a day to get updates. You will get a job within a week. They'll hate your guts and you'll likely get several offers at once and will be able to choose the one that pays the most.

It's worked for me time and time again, Nanc!

hug Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. What's funny is that if I keep calling these job agencies, I find that they seem to get annoyed that I keep pestering them. lol But like you said, if I do it enough, they'll keep me in mind for whatever comes along.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

hug Thanks, Jen. I know, this area is shitty for jobs. I tried to look out of state for a position, but that did not work out either

Yeah, for a while, you feel extremely rude and it's uncomfortable. But after being unemployed for over a month, I got really worried and any other issues went out the window. I was just completely honest with them about it: "You'll keep hearing from me regularly until I'm placed somewhere". It worked so well that I'm working somewhere making $3/hr more than I've ever made before! All because I was a royal pain in the ass. mr.green

I know sad I don't know if you've done what Insatiable suggested but I'd say that even if YOU feel that you did you're too nice of a person to wanna be a pain in anybody's ass (and that's a HUGE compliment, hear? wink hug ) so step it up another notch and DO call often regardless of what they say. Yeah they'll hate you but that'll make them want to get you outta their hair and so they'll make sure that companies get YOU. nod thumbs up!

You can either sit around getting frustrated waiting for them to call or you can call them and do your upmost to get a job. Until then you're not getting any hugs or sympathy from me.

Trust me, I'm doing the best I can to find employment. It's not as easy as some people may think, especially with an extremely bad economy where I live. I will just keep calling this broad until she calls me back.

Good news, I just called this woman back about a half hour ago, and was actually able to reach her on the phone (for once). lol She apologized to me for not returning my calls. I made an appointment to meet with her at 10:00 on Monday morning. biggrin
