Give the kid a break, I didn't have earth shattering problems at 15 either. Thank God.

Well I did and now that I have kids of my own, they have to get their own cellphones with their own money. I'm not adding either of them to my contract. What Ms. Wright should have done was take that 150 bucks and bought a prepaid RazR.

My 12 year old wants a phone. There is no way in hell I'd let a teenager have a contract. You run out of minutes, you're shit outta luck with a pre-paid.

My niece is on a family plan and is only allowed to use it during the day in case of emergency or to contact her direct family but she can use all the free night and weekend minutes she wants. It works out quite well.

OK.

Sara, in my opinion you should wash out your mouth with soap, but if you paid for the phone with your own money, it seems like no one should be able to take it away from you.

Se must be a good kid. When I was a kid, I would in no way be able to control my phone useage.

Seriously, some of you people on here act like I'm 5 years old and I just bit someone.

I'm 15 year's old and if my mom doesn't have a problem with it, why should you?
You guys make a big deal about the little things I SELDOM say when in reality younger kids out there are doing much worse than me.
As long as I'm getting straight A's and showing respect for people and not doing anything seriously wrong, I don't think anyone has right to tell me they think I should watch my language lol. lol

Besides, I seem to remember this thread being about my younger cousin getting my cell phone and me seeing if people thought it was as ridiculous as I did.. NOT whether you think I'm to young to have a cell, whether you think I need to wash my mouth out with soap or anything else you think it's about other than what it really is..

Miss Sara...it sounds like to me, that your Grandmother and Uncle could have handled this situation much better. It also sounds like to me that your 8 yr old cousin wears the pants in her household! A child of 8 does NOT need a cell phone, and I feel a young woman of your age does. You are 15, and it's a good way for your folks to keep tabs on you! But an 8 yr old?? What the hell is she doing that she isn't with her parents in the first place???

Well anyway Miss Sara, you have a right to vent! But I have to say, you handled yourself in a good manner! So pat yourself on the back, for not acting like your silly Uncle!

If you were a guy, I would suggest teabagging your grandmother.

Since that is not possible, I would chalk this one up to a lesson on human nature.

It hurts when people hose you, but it hurts more when it is your own family.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

She's only 15, and should be allowed to express her teenage angst. Lord knows I've seen adults twice on this board moan about things far more trivial, many times bordering idiotic confused . What's she supposed to bring to us? Problems with tax evasion, heroin addiction, or how she's gotten into baby trouble???? rolleyes

We should be so happy we've got a kid on the straight and narrow whose biggest issue is about a cellphone wink

I agree. If the idea is that you need to use it only for emergencies, moms keeping tabs, or maybe a few short calls with friends, then pre-paid should suffice wink

I've been thinking about this. I do not think it's appropriate for a 15-year-old to be here.

Or, I don't think it's appropriate for people to post disgusting things knowing at least one 15-year-old is reading it. But IMHO, this is an adult forum, so I think if people want to post about how they've never tasted their own you-know-what, or as Mars23 said, certain deviate sex acts should be performed on one's own relative, etc., then this should be labelled as an adult forum.

I know that would be virtually impossible to enforce, but it is still the right thing, IMHO.

I still believe Sara should wash her mouth out with soap. That kind of language isn't impressive and I'm sure she is an impressive person.

Thanks, Ivy. It's a tricky issue. I myself have posted threads with adult content - or at least, adult humor - but I didn't know there was an active 15-year-old contributor on here. I like the idea of being able to say what I want, even if it's profane, but I am uncomfortable knowing there are kids that read it. So, I don't think kids should be allowed here. Or maybe there should be another forum: General Discussion 2 - No Kids Allowed.

there are actually more than one 15 year old here and i used to think people were kidding about their ages but they are not. It's been suggested more than once that we have an 18 and over forum.

BUT, ultimately it is up to parents to pay attention and monitor what sites children visit online. I just make sure I don't engage any of the minors here in explcit conversation.
