I normally don't give a shit about cars but this pic made me wet & I don't even like 2 door's, DAMN! I'm in an old piece of shit just got it out of the shop too but I may get something before the year is out. I'd love to own a brand new car but I really don't want a note right now, I'll probably go used AGAIN

Whoo girrrl, I gave up driving four years ago, but my last car was a Saab.
Now I'm strictly a subway girl and I have a taxi account, and what I spend each month even with endlessly taxiing around town I STILL spend about 35%-40% less than what it cost me to have a car here

Mine is the little red motorcycle wannabe. It goes from zero to 60 in about ten minutes, but I have a long daily commute and the mileage is awesome. The car on the other side of it is my '99 Chevy Malibu, and we also have a '95 Honda Civic which is the best car ever. My husband has the Yamaha 1100 and a '72 Chevy truck. Murica: at least it's not Sudan.

And what's your carbon footprint

You assume too much. Our carbon footprint is a lot better than you might expect. We are very efficient. We kill power to anything in the house that isn't being used at that time by flipping the breakers. Our power consumption has been cut by more than half by killing the water heater, diswasher, stove, washing machine, dryer, etc. as well as unplugging all electronics like home entertainment equipment, electronic coffee maker, computers, lamps and so on. Basically, the only things that run when we aren't home or directly using them are the fridge, freezer and a/c. We reuse to what some might consider a ridiculous degree (washable cloth toilet "paper," anyone?), recycle and I'm a vegetarian. I generally buy second-hand rather than new, locally grown/manufactured when applicable and we will be growing and canning/preserving/freezing our own in the upcoming year. I line dry almost all laundry rather than run the dryer which not only saves energy, but means my dryer should last forever and keep me from having to waste the resources in buying another in a few years.
My motorcycle is my primary form of transportation which gets about 80 mpg. The cars are paid for, several years old and only driven in extreme (generally meaning involving high winds and lightning, not just rain or hot or cold) weather. By preserving the paid for and well maintained cars, it keeps us from having to buy more vehicles and therefore contributing to the wasting of resources. We've had them several years and won't buy more until these are no longer functional. Much less wasteful than buying a new car every couple of years. The truck belonged to my husband's father from brand new. It tows a trailer with a mower about once a month, but mostly sits in the yard and has more sentimental value than anything. However, I'm always interested in learning more about how I can decrease any negative impact on the environment, so I'm willing to hear any suggestions you have. Murica: at least it's not Sudan.

I'm a spoiled brat
I'm driving a VW Touran 1.9TDI DSG, it's a 7-seater. Not sexy but a great car, with good mileage and very comfortable driving ( 4 the DSG) It's a company car though, I've never bought a car in my life

I didn't even get to tell you about the homemade laundry soap and homemade chemical free cleaners.
Oh, well, it's an evolution of sorts. I'm constantly striving to see where I can improve. Trial and error and all that. I believe your heart's in the right place. Murica: at least it's not Sudan.
