Is it okay to eat 5-year-old popcorn?

It's been sitting in the cabinet for 5 years at least. It's still in the bag and plastic wrapper. Unpopped. There is no expiration date to be found. Is it safe?

Sidenote: It's kettle-corn. Kettle-corn sucks. Who eats kettle-corn? But, I'm broke right now and beggars can't be choosers.

I don't think it's a good idea.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

You could die just by having it in your house.

Ugh. I'm taking a chance. It tastes terrible. I feel like I am a cast member in one of the Jackass movies. But, I lost my job last week while simultaneously losing all of my money in Atlantic City... I have never been THIS broke! I'm not looking for sympathy, just sayin...

No mice I can kill and eat. I am a vegetarian, unfortunately. That makes it harder to find food around the house. The people I live with have all sorts of frozen meat products in the freezer.

Ironically, I found an open box of pancake batter in the same cabinet as the popcorn. I thought the pancakes were Blueberry, but upon further inspection I realized the pancake mix was littered with mouse turds! But not to worry, the popcorn was vacuum-sealed!

The company I was working for abruptly went out of business. So, now I am kind of screwed. I wouldn't have been screwed if I hadn't just lost a lot of money in Atlantic City! I just bought Trump a new bottle of wine.

Hmm, I do have a bunch of Prince on vinyl... wink

And I threw out that popcorn. I'd rather starve!

you should sprinkle some liquid aminos on that popcorn, then at least you know the seasoning will be good for you. nod
