are dead birds a bad omen?

so lately i've been creeped the f!ck out by at least 1 dead bird
every 2 days for over two weeks now

headlp eek headlp

it started with a dead bird outside my backdoor, no wounds, no
broken neck, just dead, as if by old age, lol.

then i drove over a huge raven, a real freaky accident where i
almost got into a crash for breaking hard to avoid him. there
was a whole lot more to it but it was no average accident. the
whole thing freaked me out incredibly and i don't usually get
freaked out that soon.

then a dead bird next to my car in the morning, right next to
the driver's seat door.there was a mark on the door where it
had crashed into the metal of a dark blue car, standing still
wtf?

friday i get on a ladder to trim my honeysuckle tree in the
back of my garden and notice a little nest. in it are three
dead birds.

this weekend a bird just crashed itself incredibly hard into 1
of my windows. dead. i've lived here for 9 months and that has
never happened before. in fact, i was even standing right in
front of the window talking to a friend who had come over to
show me her new baby

i'm having a drink in my friend's garden, a bird swooshes over
my head, flies into a small window, covered with shades inside,
and falls dead on the pavement.

this morning at work, i opened the door to the garden during my
coffee break and as i step out onto the terrace, there's a dead
bird next to my foot.

somebody headlp

i think something or someone is trying to tell me something
really desperately. this is seriously starting to worry me.

Okay, YOU just freaked me out. I don't know if dead birds are an omen but I'd start being real careful.

Eeeeeek!

You might find this comforting.

lol. i know a maluku who does voodoo (also with birds i think) and
i already though about perhaps consulting her about this. although
she'll probably do what she always does, scare the shit out of me,
and make me pay her with a bottle of malt

I always been superstitious about birds. Last year, during the weeks when I was deciding which college to go to,my mom tells me there's this cardinal at her work that keeps smashing into her window EVERY DAY and will not leave her alone. One of the colleges I was deciding between was Stanford - their mascot is the cardinals. I didn't choose enroll at Stanford, but the bird didn't actually go away until I had left for college. My mom said she'd never seen the bird before that and never saw it again after. I always think about that and wonder what might have happened if I had made a different decision and if that bird was trying to tell me something. lol

Birds in your area are probably right now discussing whether it's a bad omen to see you.

eek Yeah, that is pretty bad. It's a sign that there's going to be lots of really suck-ass artists making albums very soon. Everyone should prepare...now!!!

But seriously, maybe it's just bad luck. Not necessarily an omen of sorts. It could be that there's just a lot of old, sick birds in the area. razz

falloff best answer yet, my first true LOL on the org in months.

anyway...

one of my aunts never married and lived with my grandparents as an adult. when they got older, she was their primary caregiver. for the last year or so of my grandmother's life, she was in a nursing home. my aunt would spent time at the nursing home every day. my grandmother passed in the middle of the night on a snowy day in March. the nursing home called my aunt to tell her. she got out bed and started getting ready to go to the nursing home. as she was getting ready, again in the dead of the night during a Colorado snowfall, a bird tapped on the window and just stared at my aunt for a bit before flying off into the night. by aunt swears it was the spirit of my grandmother, telling her she was free as a bird.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark

that's what made me extra sad sad

but the way it happened, the bird just didn't budge and after i'd
stopped -on a very bussy road- and made sure it had time to walk
away, i started rolling the car like inch for inch and it just sat
there under my wheel. fcuz i didn't see this, i thought it was
gone by then and there was no way for me to get out of the car at
that road. just stopping was already like totally dangerous

nod
If you see a nice dress that you can't quite afford...sprinkle some birdseed on it and wait a day or two.
