Don't you hate it when you move to a new workplace/office/room/... and all the surroundings and amenities that you are used to are missing. I am about halfway done setting up my class. Some of the stuff I have I jacked from my old classroom, and I got some new stuff. I should have stolen my ergonomically designed leather chair and teacher's desk/computer hutch that I had in my old room. But I figured hey, they would hook me up with some new duds. Yeah they did, but the new duds suck ass. My desk has no lockable compartments and only one shelf. And on top of all that it looks a foldaway plastic picnic table that someone would take to a bar b q or a park, which is cool if your bar b quing or having a party, but this shit is what I have to sit at everyday. The kicker is my new chair is a metal foldaway chair. Isn't that some bullshit? Don't even get me started on the fact that I have only one bookshelf and a rollaway cabinet like I'm gonna be moving or something. Plus the school gave me a filing cabinet with a lock on it and gave me the wrong key. I went in to the facilities manager and he gave me a bag of 25 keys, and not one of them worked. The kicker my first official workday is tomorrow and I get my first set of kids on Friday! lol Oh well, I will make do and improvise. What can I say, when you have lemons make lemonade right! I really don't enjoy interacting with people, but part of the job is to manipulate folks into doing things for you, so I have to do it. It sucks. | |

I can too. I can be quite charming in real life, face to face, and that goes a long way in business. But I'm not big on making people do things they don't want to do, which of course, in this business, I must do constantly. If you gave me a bunch of code to script and sat me in a cube for a week with no human interaction, I would be quite happy. | |
