A cabaret singer takes a wrong turn and ends up in a mysterious village. When he seeks shelter in the local inn, he inadvertently arouses the disturbed landlord's penchant for transsexuals and torture, and is dragged into a nightmarish ordeal in the nearby woods. Belgian director Fabrice du Welz's horror puts a welcome European spin on a well-trodden formula, and makes for shocking entertainment. Laurent Lucas and Jackie Berroyer star.
