Actually, what's on my mind this morning is the 2007 constitution that's just been accepted in Thailand. It restricts power to the future government and puts the military in a position of overseer of politics. The people that voted 'no' did so from dislike for the junta, and many of the people who voted 'yes' did so for the same reason (thinking it would speed up the general elections and thus get the junta out of power sooner). This charter allows amnesty in the event of future coups and is far inferior to the 1997 constitution. Between now and December Thailand is in for some rough times.
