DAMN comfort

Yeah it's pretty bad. dead Although I have endometriosis, so that's the main reason for the over-the-top pain and bleeding and all that great stuff. confused

The main cure for that though is pregnancy. neutral

I just don't have the energy to do anything right now. I wanna crawl back in my bed & watch tv & be pissy mad I don't feel like cooking but I gotta eat something, I don't even have the energy to take something for my cramps sad I'm so fucking irritated. You need a little extra Zinc in your diet, Ma. It helps ease up the monthly cramps nod

My mother bought me some B6 for cramps, she kept reading that it's supposed to help when taken a week or so before. I can't remember to take it until I'm already cramping sad sad

Look into the Depo-Provera shot. Shot in your booty cheek once every 3 months. Most common side effect ... no periods at all! Been taking the shot for 8 years now, haven't had a cycle since, no cramps no nothing. Occasionally, when I get close to the next shot, I get breakthrough bleeding, but it only happens once every two years or so, and it is nothing. I wouldn't trade the shot for the world, and my hubby likes it too! cool

That's pretty much me too. confused I don't understand how they came back when I haven't had them like that since I was a kid and they were gone for years. I mean, I'd get a little crampy now and again, but now that's exactly what it is, curl up and cry.

Yeah, I just posted above that mine is most likely caused by endometriosis, and the main cure for that (outside of being on the Pill, which I'm not) is to get pregnant. Apparently, as you get older and don't have kids and if you also have endometriosis, you have more and more pain and bleeding during your period basically until you finally get pregnant. sigh I guess our bodies were made to procreate, as much as I hate to admit that, and I suppose it's the body's way of saying "Come on get ON with it already!". lol Not really the cure I was looking for though. confused

Can't I just be normal?! mad

I've been lucky in that I have never had horrible symptoms. I get cramps and I can feel uncomfortable for a day or two, but I can still function. I have a friend that used to get cramps that were so terrible that she would pass out from the pain. It was scary as hell eek

I want in on the opt out plan too.

I stopped getting horrible cramps after I was a teenager and the last few months they've come back. Last month they were so bad they woke me up from the pain at 2 in the morning. I could barely make it to my medicine cabinet to take something and then I had to lay awake for an hour waiting for it to kick in. It was honestly the worst pain I remember in forever.

Though, I used to get utterly depressed for a couple days before and that seems to have been replaced by the cramps instead. I'm not sure which is worse. lol

My periods have been touch and go, ever since I had an ectopic pregnancy way back in 1988, and since then they have been getting less and less untill about 5 years ago when they finally stopped cos of my menopause at the grand old age of 45!! lol lol lol

Yet even my menopause was some crazy shit, with me acting like a wild animal at times and having severe mood swings and even doing crazy things like impulse buying for things that I normally never need or want!! My whole body aching from head 2 toe, especially my legs!! And plus, my sleeping patterns going completely haywire!!sad sad

But, now I have levelled out and everything is fine now!! biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

You can take birth control pills straight through for 3 months and then let up a week. And start in again. The idea is to only get your period once every 10 weeks that way. I tried it a few years ago on my doctors recommendation but I get so messed up from the hormones it's just not worth it to me. Serious depression and just plain crazy/schizo feeling. But worth a shot for anyone who isn't affected like I am.

I do the 2-3 month birth-control pill -thing. It's the best! Although I have really massive bleeding during my periods (super sized tampons aren't enough), sometimes cramps in my stomach and back and the mood swings are just un-bearable... Atleast I don't get 'em every month!

I remember one lovely summer, when I had my period, mono and a horrible snotty flu.. ill

Eating always helps me too.. Plus hot drinks and putting a warm towel on my tummy.. Or when my boyfriend keeps his hand on my tummy, the spot where the uterus is, it relaxes me a lot.. Hope you'll feel better CalhounSq... hug
