I guess if you got the $ than spend it. but like you I dont see a need for it. The most I ever spent on a clothing item was 300 for a jacket.

Let me say first - I don't believe I've ever spent more than $200 on something other than shoes. And to spend that much for me is few and far between. I'm not rich and I'd rather have more options that are cheaper than fewer that cost more. Partly because I WANT to go through clothing fairly quickly. My whims change and so my style changes and I'd rather know I got all the wear I could out of something than pack it away or donate.

All that said, if I were someone who had the means, I can see that I would have a mix of designer things and a mix of cheaper. The beauty, style and craftsmanship that go into individual pieces sometimes can be enough to take my breath away. I actually get teary sometimes, walking through designer sections of department stors seeing all of the beautiful things I can't have. ( redface ) But I also think it's important to check quality. So that you are paying extra for a good reason. A silly example, but I can tell a huge difference between, say, a calvin klein cotton t shirt and a hanes one. My god, they feel good. It's everything from the fabrics to the linings to even better stitching.

It depends on the item I guess.

It's not so much the price of the item as much as the item itself that determines if I will purchase it.

I've been known to wear 200 dollar shoes, 150 dollar jeans, and 8 dollar t-shirt.
Or 80 dollar shoes, 30 dollar jeans. I really is a matter of if I like the items. Fortunately, Luckily one of my favorite jean designers is Levis, though I don't like their commone 30-dollar jeans--I like the premium 100+ dollar jeans.
But you could send me into a Target or Old Navy and I'd be just as happy.

I'll always wear a 50 dollar haircut though. Oh, make that 90 if I decide to get highlights. shrug

If I didn't have my hook-up I'd be spending $150-200 every time I had my hair done.

How much do you spend now?

If you say about as much as I do I'm going to go out and find me a hookup too. sigh

If there's something I like then I must have it. Im quite particular when it comes to clothes and I hate people buying me clothing as I rarely like it. When it comes to spending I wont go over the the top. I have a limit.

Yes, totally I agree. People you need labels to feel good about themselves need to work on their self esteem.
