MEANWHILE, the fucker did it. I was in my undershirt and shorts cooking dinner and watching TV and suddenly it's OPEN HOUSE in Chez Anxiety! So, I very icily asked my landlord if we could have a word after he was done raping my privacy, and when he saw his potential buyers out, I told him his actions were unacceptable, and I had a copy of my lease and the Chicago tenant law (thanks Ivy! ) in my hand, and I asked him if he would like to review them with me, and he waved them off and said no, he knew it was unacceptable. OH. WELL. Then he tried to appeal to my sympathy by saying "some of these people want to see the unit NOW and I can't say no", then he asked when I was moving out and I told him I was moving out on the move-out date, and he said that was going to pose a bit of a problem if he had people moving in on September 1st, so now he's getting all asstacular about THAT (which I was anticipating). FUN FUN FUN! hold on--if he already has people moving in on September 1 then why does he need to show your apartment?

Well ~ I say keep Diamanda handy ~ huge wall poster and all ~ and crank it up loud as soon as he knocks on the door. Her 3 1/2 octave range and um "alternative" presence will herd them quickly to the door.
Meanwhile ~ focus on what you are traveling to and revel in the sheer joy of it! and sweet wishes for both of you Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran
