Singling someone out for being 'black' is more hurtful than singling out someone for being 'white'. Its not a double standard or an equal trade off. This country (and the whole world for that matter) has a history of degrading and exploiting so called 'black' people.
If there never was a history of slavery, ethnic cleansing, and other atrocities in the world, then perhaps we could all joke freely about eachothers ethnicities without deeply offending anyone. | |
