I agree actually. I didnt' even think the first Saw movie was all that good. I was actually kinda disappointed to see Cary Elwes and Danny Glover, who are both excellent actors, starring in a lame ass movie like that. It's not even that scary, but more gory, and that in and of itself isn't scary. If I wanted to see that, I'd hook up a POlice scanner and go murder scene hopping.
confused

I just started that 4th Silent Hill game, and it freaks me out! All these ghosts of murder victims walking around...and you can't kill them either! razz

yea, i agree about hese movies being liking murder scene hopping.

i liked the first saw. i totally figured out the ending halfway through, but i still thought the way all the elements tied together was well-written and clever. it was a horror movie that had a bit more going on upstairs than most horror movies.

but i hate the impact it has had where now these films are just legal snuff films. they barely have any plot, it's just about seeing people killed in torturous, realistic ways.

In Hostel I WANTED to kill the lead guy myself. He was so arrogant!!!!!

which is part of how they have turned antagonists into protaganists, and vice-versa.

people now mostly cheer the death of the "good guys" and want the "bad guys" to escape. the saw movies are a really good example of that. who's really the hero in them? the killer.

in the hostel movies, who do you want to succeed? the killers.
