Why is there always one person to put a damper on someone's "good news" with "advice"? confused

you still get updates and security updates.

and i swear they slow your computer down
if you don't have the most current version/model.

maybe there is some explaination for it.
If there is please tell me.

why is there always a judgemental cunt lingering in the wings waiting to crawl out like an ugly slug to piss all over people with their hideous apparent superiority?

why do people always feel the need to ask questions and sound like complete cockbadgers to make a point?

fuck off. it's what i do.

Funny, because I've never had an OS X update slow my computer down. In fact, from 10.0 up through 10.3, I'd say they actually made my Macs feel faster. I think 10.4 was the first time I didn't feel an immediate kick in the pants after an upgrade.

As a side note, the new iWork '08 is wonderful.

Yet. They're coming, don't worry lol With all the people "going mac", macs are becoming a better looking target for the people who write viruses and stuff.

http://it.slashdot.org/it...1217.shtml

Also, apples have security issues too...you just don't hear about it.

http://apple.slashdot.org.../27/006238

Sorry to be a party poop...I just don't think it's cool that people are lead to believe that getting a Mac is the cure-all for viruses and security. The reason Mac's are not on the receiving end of all that as bad as PC's are has nothing to do with their "quality" or whatever. It's just that no one's really put any effort into infecting them yet. No computer system is ever going to be 100% safe, it's just a fact of life..

Umm, I hate to be the one to burst your bubble but the reason WHY they currently have no viruses, while sometimes fun to debate, is entirely irrelevant. The fact is that they don't. The person who goes out and buys a Mac is going to have a safer and more secure system in the real world. Fact. Even in a worse case scenario it will takes YEARS for that to change.

...and when the day comes that someone actually, finally can manage to create a self replicating virus that can live in the real world and infect Macs then those users will STILL be safer by dizzying odds.

Mac OS X users currently have 0 viruses to worry about. Windows has 10's of thousands.

I wondered what would possess anyone to purchace a PC other than thier price.

you know, it's funny. i've got windows, & use live onecare for security stuff, and i've never had a problem in about a year of using this computer. the only time it'll freeze is when a particular WMP plug-in i have acts up, but if i removed that it'd be perfect. smile
