The show is great. Of course, depending on most of our ethnitiecies on the org, some of the stuff that's presented on the show isn't so strange b/c we've probably eaten it at one time or other.

It upsets me when people are like OH MY GOD how can they eat that. blah blah blah. I mean yeah there are some things I don't think I could eat but different cultures eat different things because of the food that is available. I'm sure some people think that certain things that what we Americans eat are strange.

Does that taste like beef stew or something. I think I could try that.

Yeah, kinda like the beef stew, not as heavy as a stew. It's very good.

I've never really been a fan of seafood. Well some of it at least. I really like shrimp. Crab and lobster I can do without. I really wish I could eat it though. People look like they are having such a wonderful meal when they're eating lobster.

Yup! The black laquer boxes have gold dust.....the pens with tiny doll heads, laquered pins with gold dust. I have a lot of that stuff in the safe. I should give it away. The paintings from the flea markets are wonderful and on our walls. The artists, at the time, studied what was in the museums. The mafia was just starting up.....opportunities abounded. And for a tourist, the food was special.....where else are you going to get the best caviar in the world in the AM and cheap?

I'm deathly afraid of crickets. I know, I know, they don't bite, sting or anything. I just get creeped out by them. Crickets, Locusts, grasshoppers. NO THANKS. And to eat them? Ughhh. I heard their tasty though.

I also know that ants are spicy. That's a whole other story...

Ate all of them. Rattlesnake quiche is great. It's hard to seperate the meat from the tiny bones, but do-able.

Menudo! Pig gut, hominy, great for hangovers.

I don't like Menudo. The tripe is just not cute. Heehee! I love Posole though. In my family it's prepared the same as Menudo except it has Beef instead of tripe. Lots of hominy and lots of lemon and oregano. Mmmmmm..

Oh hell, I had fried turtle two weeks ago in my hometown. It's domestic, and I can't get it here, as the proximity to Mexico and illegal import problems. It's a little boney but the meat is delicious.

Technically, the citric acid in lime cooks the shellfish. So in essence, the fish is cooked. Talk about delicious.

I had a drop dead meal in Mexico at some roadside spot near San Carlos, that had shrimp, coconut, and pineapple. It was cooked in foil and seemed Indonesian.
Tried to duplicate it at home but there must have been a secret ingrediant.....??

I would leave that part alone.....lol

It's funny. The last time I went to Mexico, Guadalajara, to be specific, I ate EVERYTHING and I didn't get sick. I used to always get sick when I ate there. I didn't eat anything too exotic but everything I did eat was sooooo amazing. The simplest things were so delicious. It's that damned Manteca (lard) that they use.

Nothing beats fish tacos served on a boat in Guaymas, off the Sea of Cortez,, with fish you've just caught.(red snapper) It's fried right there, and the sauce is similar to mayonaise with red chile ....to die for....served in a tasty tortilla made with lard, of course..Nothing but the best!
