Why are they so fantastic?

I know there are fat ones, flat ones and bony ones that arn't that great. But putting that aside, why does the female arse (or ass for you North Americans) have such an allure?

I must admit I could stare at a fine arse like Kylie Minogues or Jennifer Lopez's all day.
