I just watched Factory Girl and it was quite disappointing.

I've tried to watch "Rent" on cable a number of times. I never make it thru.

Crash - the race one, not the accident/fucking one -- would have been a great TV movie of the week. ridiculously stereotypical profiles and nothing interesting to say about race in L.A. or the U.S.

Sling Blade -- ugggh, again, would have been a fine TV movie, but just another example of an actor playing a mentally challenged character and everyone shitting all over themselves about how great it is. bleh...

Forrest Gump -- see notes for sling blade, then make it 50 hours too long and add cheesy sentimental soundtrack and manipulation of historical images. the beginning of the end of Tom Hanks.

Some of the dialog attempted to be funny in the smug Kevin Smith way, and some of the scenes were clever. And it wasn't at all a bad film to me. But after hearing how 'awesome' it was from my friends I was kind of let down.


Braveheart was the same. I was told it was "the best movie ever made" and so forth, so by the time I saw it, I was let down.

I think all of Kevin Smith's movies blow, and Bruce Willis threatening to beat him to death in the otherwise crappy new Die Hard movie gave me the first erection I had been able to achieve in over six months.

The original Star Wars Movie.


To me it's the worst of the entire series (Even worse than Phantom Menace which itself was aweful).

Actually, the only truly good film of the series was Empire Strikes back.


I appreciate what it did for sci-fi as a genre and so forth, but Star Wars is about as overrated as you can get.

"The Deer Hunter" - WTF? Best Film? Really?

"The Godfather" - boring, IMHO. Of course, I didn't see it until last year. It was probably a much more entertaining movie when it came out 50 years ago.
