You love Tom. You want his kids to accompany you and your black pooch on long, winding walks around Scotland. smile

I hope you're not insinuating anything. Anyway, it's puppies kids want to see, not fully grown dogs. Allegedly.

hmm

Do you know where Madeleine is, perchance?

shrug Just a hunch I'm feeling is all.

He was amazing, but anything's amazing when you've had that much to drink.

Estimating the performance without the alcohol effect I'd say he was great, although the arena's sound could be better and I'd have loved to have been closer.

Not to worry though; seeing him September 20th in the Golden Circle. biggrin

I'm there on the 17th. I dislike London, aeroplanes and arena shows but I'm quite looking forward to the whole thing.

Arena's have shitty sound quite often. O2's nice otherwise though. Fucking plush - pubs and restaurants everywhere.

I spent £50 on pints. eek Good God I didn't realise. No wonder I'm broke.

I want to go to another night on top of the 20th, it was that good. May do the 17th and find you and punch you over the rails.

i agree although i don't think those two are overrated since the general
opinion seems to be that they're lame and totally stupid.

i still don't know exactly what happened with that trilogy. was it just
not good enough a story? i mean, the initial idea was just so cool but,
somewhere along the line, it turned into a trainwreck.

American History X

urgh, talk about a horrible, overrated piece of garbage

i absolutely hated this film. plus it contains the most
horrible, nasty scene i've ever seen with that kid they
have on the sidewalk with his teeth.

i just can't forget that since i've seen it and i think
about it like once every week and cringe -it's been uhm
like 4 years since i've seen it.

that's some fucked up trauma to have from watching some
film that everyone is raving about.

what i hate even more is that i keep meeting people who
tell me they love that movie or it's their fav movie on
earth.

and i know that they like it for all the wrong reasons,
which makes me hate them as much as the movie, lol.

yes, i can seriously say that american history x is one
of the very few movies i've ever seen that actually did
make me physically sick and continues to haunt me with
that horrible horrible scene

I never saw the English Patient cause after all the hype and how much everyone I knew simply gushed about it to me I knew there was no way it would ever live up to expectation.
I do mean to see it someday. I just couldn't when it came out.

The English Patient and Elaine is the only person who hates it?

in the end she's even fired because her boss finds out she doesn't
like it

I guess people just like innocent-man-in-prison movies with Hallmark endings. The hero is vindicated and the bad guys are punished.

Yeah, so when you also have the added bonus of Morgan Freeman doing his usual old wise man routine, a few quasi-profound moments and lots of cheesy music you've got yourself a winner. Apparently.

I preferred Sylvester Stallone's Lock Up and Tom Selleck's An Innocent Man. Essentially, both are the same movie as Shawshank, but have more guns, homo-erotisicm and shower stabbing scenes. No, not that kind of stabbing.

You're probably being sarcastic when you say you prefer those movies but I loved An Innocent Man. falloff

Lock Up was fun too, in its own silly way.

I was going to say the first "Matrix".
I didn't see it in the movies, so by the time I did see it, the effects had been done and redone, spoofed and so on....
Everyone built it up to be so fabulous! eyepop
I hated Keanu(sp?) Reeves' "acting", and Morpheus' speeches bored me to tears!
disbelief

I never finished the 2nd, and never saw the 3rd! confused

Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."
