Who on G.D. goes to church, temple, shrine, or any other place of religious fellowship? Please don't move this to P&R. I am just taking an informal G.D. poll on who here attends a place of religious fellowship. Interested in finding out our backgrounds. Lets not turn this into a heated debate. Just tell me what church you go to and your denomination (faith)! Thanks, I'll start.
Mass every Sunday either 8 A.M. or 9:30 P.M. Catholic Mens Bible Fellowship either Monday mornings at 5 in the A.M. (during football season) or Thursdays at 7 in the P.M. (rest of the year) Non Denominational men from all different backgrounds get together to read a few verses, pray for one another, and share whats bothering us. Thanks. Once a year for a special ceremony I go with my mom to temple. She is Buddhist. Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

I was raised as a Roman Catholic but I go to church only when a friend gets married.
Churches make me sleepy. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

They have the opposite effect on me. They make you hyper-hyper? Oh, I'd like to see that. I do giggle sometimes when the old ladies start to sing, though. Once, me and my friend (not much of a believer either) wanted to attend our mutual friend's wedding wearing this: Well, what? Swans are so romantic. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

It's more of a cross between immense irritation, agitation and frustration. I love the swan outfit. It's very Bjork.

It's more of a cross between immense irritation, agitation and frustration. I love the swan outfit. It's very Bjork. I get that too sometimes. I hate those uncomfortable seats they in churches. But seriously, why even bother going if it makes you feel so bad? I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

from my familial heritage i'm a religous mix of jewish-catholic-baptist (if that makes any sense) , but converted in adulthood to unitarianism. since i'm a foreign expatriate now i no longer have a church to attend (in my english native language) so i depend on independent study, and online theology classes

Lutheran....I love being at church, it's a great affirmation of love and forgiveness...but if I wasn't taking the kids to Sunday School every sunday I'm not sure I'd ever get off my ass to be there. Plus my wife grew up in a fairly negative Catholic atmosphere so she can hardly be dragged into the building

I go every Sunday! I like going to church.... "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

My parents weren't overly religious, so I didn't grow up strong in any particular faith. However, they had the general belief in God and Jesus as the Saviour so I guess you could say I had general Christian teachings. Now, I am Methodist. My father-in-law is a Methodist minister, so I don't really have a choice.

I wish christianity had opted for buddhist-style temples because they're so much more cozy and welcoming than the dark and eerie churches we have around here. Either way I don't need a building to keep my faith in God. It might be nice to go every now and then, for example if there's a Christmas concert on, but that's pretty much it. Me not subscribing to any specific religion plays a part in it too of course.

I don't get to go to Anfield nearly as much as I'd like.
But seriously, we just pop down the temple on a whim every few months or so. It's more just to observe people than anything else.
