In Britain, I think "pissed" means "drunk". It doesn't mean they got mad, like it does here in the USA.

For instance, I got pissed that I wasted $16 and two hours watching "No Reservations". I wouldn't have been so American pissed though, if I could have watched it while pissed in the British way.
